Starlink suffered a global outage overnight

"Starlink users around the world complained on Tuesday that Elon Musk’s internet from space service was down. My own Starlink RV service in the Netherlands went down for about 30 minutes. Android will support satellite connectivity and partners in its next version

Existing iPhone and Android devices will be supported, but the experience, especially the end-user one, could benefit from OS-level support.

Lockheimer alludes to how the “user experiences for phones that can connect to satellites” will be different from regular LTE and 5G connections as expected speeds, connectivity, and even interaction times are to be different, with just “two to four megabits of bandwidth per cellular zone”
