CRS-20 Launch Campaign Thread

It is the last scheduled flight of a Dragon 1 capsule. (CRS-21 and up under the new Commercial Resupply Services 2 contract will use Dragon 2.) The external payload for this mission is the Bartolomeo ISS external payload hosting platform. Falcon 9 and Dragon will launch from SLC-40, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and the booster will land at LZ-1. The mission will be complete with return and recovery of the Dragon capsule and down cargo.Liftoff currently scheduled for:March 2, 06:45 UTC (1:46AM local)Backup dateTBD, the launch time gets 22-26 minutes earlier each day.Static fireTBDPayloadCommercial Resupply Services-20 supplies, equipment and experiments and BartolomeoPayload massunknownSeparation orbitLow Earth Orbit, ~200 km x 51.66°Destination orbitLow Earth Orbit, ~400 km x 51.66°Launch vehicleFalcon 9 v1.2 Block 5CoreunknownPast flights of this coreunknownSpacecraft typeDragon 1 (26th launch of a Dragon spacecraft; 22nd launch of a Dragon 1; 20th operational Dragon 1 launch)CapsuleunknownLaunch siteSLC-40, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, FloridaLandingLZ-1Mission success criteriaSuccessful separation and deployment of Dragon into the target orbit; berthing to the ISS; unberthing from the ISS; and reentry, splashdown and recovery of Dragon.Mission-Specific FAQWhat does an instantaneous window mean?Due to the need for synchronizing the orbits of the Dragon capsule and the International Space Station, the launch must occur at a precise time (noted above). Launched later, the spacecraft would be unable to rendezvous with the ISS. These precise launch opportunities occur roughly once a day, therefore, if something acts to delay the launch past this precise time, it is automatically scrubbed and usually rescheduled to the next day.Watching the LaunchSpaceX will host a live webcast on YouTube. Eric Berger on Twitter: Working date for SpaceX's Demo-2 launch is May 7. Dragon is in good shape. Launch date is fluid and mission may move into late April, or push later into May depending on a number of variables not hardware related. No final decision yet on duration.
