I expect a lot from my children. I feel that so much time is wasted. A long time ago we began infantilizing children to the point that some kids grow up and reach adulthood without learning struggle, hardship, perseverance, responsibility etc.

I often brag my little three year old can already do fifty push ups and has advanced stamina and strength and is ahead of schedule with his language. We takes cold showers sometimes and he helps with chores in the morning.

Of course to balance a disciplined childhood warmth is required. I put more physical strain on them but I also feed them natural Whole Foods, nothing packaged or microwaved. I am meticulous in ensuring they receive proper nutrition and adequate sleep. Above all we are an affectionate household. We actively praise wholesome and sweet behavior until it is natural and we have always held the kids a lot.

Our world is deprived of discipline but also of love. Discipline makes a person capable of struggle but love gives purpose to the fight.

Growing up there was always the common consensus that the ultimate goal, when you “made it” was in the thousand pound club. Individually a three plate squat or two plate bench were significant markers as well.

In a healthy masculine society there are always goals and fears of strength that distinguish men from amongst each other. Things that you can’t be born into, or simply inherit.
