INTEL: Eight compromised security certificates allow attackers to impersonate any website and intercept encrypted traffic on vulnerable systems

The compromised certificates were issued by eMudhra after a security failure left their private keys vulnerable.

Google and Mozilla blocked the affected certificates within hours of being alerted. Cloudflare has also deployed security fixes.

Most Chrome and Firefox users are already protected.

Users should keep their devices and applications updated and never ignore browser security warnings. Older software and systems that do not receive automatic security updates may still be at risk.

INTEL: China moves to seize 61,800 BTC tied to a $5.7B fraud

Chinese prosecutors asked a Tianjin court to confiscate the coins as illegal gains. The court accepted the request on Oct 13 and opened a six-month window for victims and other parties to join the case.
The coins trace to Qian Zhimin’s alleged scheme, which raised over 40B yuan from 102,000+ investors between 2014 and 2017. Qian fled to the UK in 2017 and British authorities seized the bitcoin.
Days ago a UK High Court ruled that Chinese law governs victims’ claims to the coins. CoinDesk says that boosts the British government’s chances of keeping them. Some victims’ lawyers are seeking to appeal.

INTEL: A Circle shareholder is suing Trump over World Liberty's $500M UAE stake sale and $2B Binance deal | per Bloomberg

The suit alleges Trump violated the Foreign Emoluments Clause through two UAE-linked deals. One is the $500M sale of a 49% stake in World Liberty. The other is a $2B Binance investment funded with its USD1 stablecoin. The plaintiff says the deals hurt Circle investors through unfair competition and wants illegal profits returned plus damages.
Circle says it was not involved. World Liberty denies the allegations. The WSJ previously reported the stake sale sent about $187M to Trump family entities, and House investigators are already probing the deals.
