Thought this was cool:
https://www.growingwithnature.org/compacted-soil/

The lot they started with was gravel not concrete, but both have a problem with the soil being compacted beneath. They turned it into a permaculture garden with minimal digging / soil disruption.

(after removing the parking surface) mulching can protect the soil, keep it insulated, and also provide food and shelter for burrowing critters like worms and moles and such, which loosen and enrich the soil. Deep rooting taproot plants help to reach deep too. ๐ŸŒฑ

Good Idea: grow tomatoes from the bottom of the pot

๐Ÿ… rain waters the pots but prevents (with a clever setup) diverse diseases

๐Ÿ…Creates space for also planting other things on the ground and even in the top of the pot

๐Ÿ… spares all the trouble of having to bind the plants on sticks to keep them up

A reminder that 'neurotypical' mostly means 'fit for capitalism' ๐ŸŒž
