It very obviously does have other infrastructure like roads for cars, and has meanwhile become a completely overrun mass tourist attraction. It's a nice place nonetheless, but stop portraying this false idyll 😉
People settled in this area and started using the peat bogs for fuel, drastically altering the landscape as can be seen in the Weerribben close by for example. During a storm in i believe the 1700s the mismanaged peat areas got swept away and a huge lake (Beulakerwijde) remained, flooding and destroying the village in that location. Not the best example of living in harmony with nature, the way it is portrayed here.
