No antlers and a pair of tusks, but yes, it's a cervid. They're native to China and Korea, and called gorani in Korean (κ³ λΌλ). As for the origin of their English name, just like most animals who... drink, they like hanging out around rivers and swamps, so English-speakers decided to miss the opportunity to call them vampire deers and opted for water deers. I hope your disappoinment is as incommensurable as mine.
