Report from Atlanta city jail: Last night a bus full of 40 arrestees "got a bit rowdy" according to authorities. They were all released from the bus without charge, never brought to jail.
Was experimenting at the local dollar store - King dollar, a Houston local chain that buys up liquidation lots at pennies on the dollar to offer short lived stock of good shit that might've intended to sell for 10-30, but everything there costs a buck fifty. They're padded out with normal dollar store shit, but it's worth exploring day-to-day.
Was able to find most shit a protester might want - Sturdy and vivid sign making supplies, maalox and spray bottles, sunscreen, snacks, polycarbonate safety wear, heatproof gloves, black clothing, masks, surprisingly good tools, sunglasses, sturdy umbrellas, etc
Walked around a bit getting creative - the traffic cones they had were underwhelmingly small, but they had twelve liter metal buckets and tongs.
Happened upon some mirrors - some about one foot by four for hanging inside closets, others a bit larger than a legal pad in a sturdy wooden frame, snagged some to experiment.
Sunlight is easy to aim and horrendously dazzling. Potentially useful for signaling during daytime protests, or putting a little more light on a situation. For those of y'all making larper-style foam impact shields, consider tiling mirrors all over it if you'll be out when the sun is out. Paper letters over Mirror would make a striking sign, and a large unbroken mirror would be interesting even at night for disappearing behind - stage trick style.
