The virus started in Korea on Jan 20, and was rapidly contained to only 30 cases. This changed with 31. No one knows how she got it, but she was hospitalized following a car accident, she was hospitalized for approximately two weeks prior to testing positive, a third of that time being asymptomatic. She left her room four times during that period - once to retrieve documents from home, twice to attend church for approximately two hours. and once to meet a friend at a hotel lunch buffet. Since then, all major cities report at least some infections, and over 8000 cases are being tracked.

Korea has the best response and treatment rate of any seriously affected country, with only 1% of active cases currently in critical condition.
