Researchers Uncover Chrome Extensions Abusing Affiliate Links and Stealing ChatGPT Access
"The extension does block ads as advertised, but its primary function is hidden: it automatically injects the developer's affiliate tag (10xprofit-20) into every Amazon product link and replaces existing affiliate codes from content creators," Socket security researcher Kush Pandya said.

Key trends shaping the future of web development 👇👇
1. Progressive Web Apps (PWAs): PWAs are becoming more popular as they combine the best of web and mobile apps, offering a seamless experience across platforms without needing app stores.
2. WebAssembly (Wasm): WebAssembly allows developers to run code written in different languages (C++, Rust) on the web with near-native performance, enhancing web application speed and capabilities.
3. AI-Powered Web Development: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) will become more integrated into web development, enabling features like chatbots, personalized content, predictive search, and automated design processes.
4. Voice Search Optimization: As voice search continues to grow, web developers will focus on optimizing websites for voice-activated queries, leading to changes in search engine optimization (SEO) practices and user experience design.
5. Serverless Architecture: Serverless computing allows developers to build and deploy applications without managing infrastructure. This reduces costs, enhances scalability, and enables faster development cycles.
6. Motion UI: Animation and micro-interactions will play a bigger role in web design. Motion UI helps create engaging, interactive experiences that can improve user engagement and satisfaction.
7. 5G and Enhanced Connectivity: With the rollout of 5G, faster internet speeds and lower latency will enable more complex, real-time applications, especially in areas like augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and IoT.
8. Blockchain Integration: Web development could integrate blockchain technology for decentralized applications (dApps), offering enhanced security, transparency, and user control over data.
9. Edge Computing: By bringing computing closer to the source of data, edge computing will reduce latency and improve the performance of web applications, especially for IoT and real-time data processing.
10. Cybersecurity Focus: As web applications handle more sensitive data, the importance of robust security practices, such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), encryption, and secure development frameworks, will grow.

✅ CTF platforms, hands-on labs, and how to practice like a pro.
Why CTFs are critical
- Theory doesn’t make you job-ready
- Real skills come from breaking systems
- Recruiters trust hands-on proof
What CTF means
- Capture The Flag
- Solve security challenges
- Each flag = vulnerability exploited
What skills CTFs build
- Recon and enumeration
- Exploitation thinking
- Privilege escalation
- Log analysis
- Report writing
Top platforms you must use
- TryHackMe: Beginner friendly, guided learning paths, networking, Linux, web, SOC
- Hack The Box: Realistic machines, minimal hints, industry-level difficulty
- OverTheWire: Linux and privilege escalation, terminal focused, strong fundamentals
- VulnHub: Downloadable VMs, practice offline, full attack chains
Types of CTF challenges
- Web: SQLi, XSS, file upload, auth bypass
- Network: Packet analysis, sniffing, spoofing
- Forensics: Log analysis, image and memory dumps
- Crypto: Weak encryption, broken hashes
- Reverse engineering: Crack binaries, analyze malware
Professional practice approach
- Step 1: Read problem slowly, understand goal
- Step 2: Enumerate everything, never guess early
- Step 3: Exploit carefully, take notes
- Step 4: Write what you learned, this becomes portfolio content
Beginner mistakes
- Watching walkthroughs first
- Skipping failed attempts
- Not documenting solutions
How to build a portfolio from CTFs
- Screenshots of labs
- Clear attack flow
- Vulnerability explanation
- Fix and mitigation
Daily practice routine
- 1 lab per day
- 30–60 minutes
- One write-up per challenge
What you should do next
- Start TryHackMe beginner path
- Complete 10 machines
- Write 3 detailed reports

How to Beat Social Media Algorithms
Social media platforms charge you nothing to use them, except info about you. Their algorithms decide what content to show you.❗️Don’t make their data harvesting easier —skirt the algorithms whenever you can.
✅ Don’t confirm the algorithm’s assumptions. Avoid interacting with suggested content if possible. If you find something interesting in suggestions, search for it manually and watch it from there.
✅ Eliminate suggested feeds when possible. Change your feeds to sort chronologically ➡️ don’t train the platform’s algorithm. Not for all social medias! Facebook and Twitter let you sort by recent posts. Instagram might not have a chronological feed at the moment, but it’s coming. TikTok - watch content from the “Following” (would show you videos only from accounts you follow).
✅ Use platforms without your account when possible (YouTube, Reddit).
✅ Use a burner account, with none of your real info.

💵 US dollar is falling at the fastest pace since 1980
The dollar has become the second worst performer in the G10. A year ago it was the strongest. In the last 3 months, most major currencies gained sharply against it.
✅ Australian dollar up about 8%
✅ Swedish krona up over 10%
✅ New Zealand dollar up 5%
✅ Norwegian krone up close to 2%
The pressure comes from several angles. Political uncertainty in the US is rising. Trade policy looks aggressive and hard to predict, with tariffs coming back into focus. That has triggered a broad “sell America” move, with capital flowing out of US assets.
There are also doubts around Fed independence. Public pressure for easier policy makes markets question how insulated monetary decisions really are. Add growing fiscal deficits and rising debt, and confidence in the dollar takes another hit.
This looks less like a quick move and more like a shift in how global markets price US risk.
