Got one all done! I lost the other zipper, so while I'm out I'll pick a new one up

2 different stores and only invisible zippers or jean zippers. Will go to God's craft store tomorrow
also I tried a new method to make the thigh shape! I used cardboard to make a skeleton then kinda just put a garbage back over it and shoved some polyfil in the empty areas. I quite like the outcome!
Started taping her up to start patterning! Hoping it doesn't all peel off with how hot my studio is rn. It seems we can can only have extremes in this fuck ass apartment. Either no heat or its 90+ degrees 😭😭 we have old fashioned radiators that we cannot control the temperature of and even when we turn the knobs to control flow (only 2 of them work cause of how much they've gotten the landlord special) they still are stupidly hot. We have as many windows open as we can, but I think only 3 windows have screens so the others are just cracked open 😭 were hoping the new place is done soon cause I'm so sick of all this BS

Also different update.... I've decided to leave my job and transition back into full-time fursuit making! I had gotten a second wind with it these past 2 weeks. But then I got sick again. I've literally been sick like every 2 weeks since Christmas. My immune system simply cannot handle the ecosystem of germs that toddlers have, on top of that I found out why I have back pain and the constant bending and standing I have to do cleaning up after the kids is gonna make me need surgery for it sooner, which my Dr said I won't need for at least 10 years. So id like to postpone that as much as possible

One last update, speaking of surgery. I will be getting carpal tunnel surgery after I finish echo's bodysuit comm on April 10th!
Now what does this mean for commissioners?
I won't be able to work on any art or suits for a week after my surgery, however (and this is fully dependent on my postop but if all goes well and to plan...) I will be able to get back into work slowly after that! While this will take me out for a little bit, it means I will literally NEVER have to slow work on art or sewing ever again! (Until I get surgery on my left wrist. But I don't need that hand as much)
I'll be getting the surgery in my right hand, and a steroid injection in my left that should keep my left hand going for a good while while my right recovers!
I'm really excited for this cause I've been dealing with carpal tunnel issues since I was like 12 or 13 and it's only gotten worse in the last few years as I've really buckled down on fursuit making. But now it won't cause me any more issues, which is very very exciting

This tail is crazy...I have no idea how I made it stand up like this....but a win is a win I suppose!

One foot basically done! Still needs to be lined and glued, but I wanted to test it on the DTD first since I just eyeballed the pattern lol
🔥3
It also needs the dew claw but I accidentally sewed together the right foots dew claw instead of the left LOL
Avril's feet are done! Getting feet onto a DTD is like the worst thing ever btw. I broke 2 nails doing this LOL
