The early 20th century scramble for Africa/naval supremacy race as well as the 1929 stock market crash were both the result of large national capitalist interests fighting among one another. Therefore, both World Wars were initiated by social turmoil that resulted from the inhumane calculus and perverse incentives of capitalism. So, apart from millions of soldiers and civilians killed by the bombs, guns, and chemicals produced in capitalist-owned factories, millions more are deprived of nutritious food and helpful medicines because they too are produced by for-profit companies.
Today, we need not look further than countries like Haiti, Indonesia, and DRC to see that capitalism must impoverish the 3rd world in order to keep the 1st world comfortable. 1 million+ "alleged" communists have been murdered by paramilitaries and governments in these places since the 1950s.
Let's not kid ourselves about what capitalism has historically become and where it is likely headed now.
