Thank you all of you for joining.
I hope to keep you all updated with interesting themes emerging in markets and economy, with a focus on smallcap space. I hope the ideas I’ll share here will help you to develop the right thought process and approach, to make the most of long term wealth building opportunities in the stock markets.
Speaking of which, I think it’s an irony that companies that can’t generate profit for themselves, and have to seek external funds (first private investors, now IPOs), are considered as the next big opportunity in the markets. I recently shared my views on the matter here.

Anyway, it’s interesting to track how similar businesses and their stocks that are based in the US have performed. Here’s an interesting article on Doordash, US based food delivery entity (similar to Zomato that’s planning an IPO). By the way, it’s worth noting here that Doordash is down 16% from the listing price, vs double digit gains in the benchmark index).
Is PE (price to earnings) a relevant metric for capturing the magnitude and longevity of a business?

As Terry Smith points out in his book “Investing for Growth’, you could have paid a PE multiple of over 50 times for companies like L’Oréal, Coca Cola, and Colgate, and still beaten the benchmark index in the long term. This article offers interesting insights on the perils of following mean reversion approach and ignoring the compounding power of businesses.

Is this true for Indian markets as well? In the video here, I have shared my perspective on Value vs growth debate with specific examples of companies listed in India.
Quick Question:

Do you know there is a secret market segment called “Phase One Stocks”… which is filled with pathbreaking companies in their early growth phase?

No? Don’t worry…
