Day’s been great so far. Coffee, a small errand, breakfast, and now I’m easing into the fun part - slipping a couple fabulous horses into a fine gent on the canvas.

Made solid progress on a new commission today.
Ya'll are spoiling me with your big creatures mouthing n' licking on their little friends.

I'm Thuridly pleased with the new MTG deck I put together - "The Clopanning" as Blito calls it.
So much of the horse art is incredibly pretty. I was thrilled to see the release of "Thurid, mare of destiny" and planned to make a deck for her as soon as I saw her. It just took a good while for me to get around to it.
Got a couple games in among our local playgroup.
I threatened to win the first game, and succeeded in out lasting and winning the second game.
Whenever I can squeeze in the time in the future, I'd like to make some custom horse art for it to create proxied cards featuring my own horse characters. I'd do the whole deck but I just don't have that kind of time available to invest.
But if I made horse tokens, I could offer them to subscribers or individual sales potentially. Which may be the most practical choice. If I can find affordable bulk or a compatible print on demand service. I could also print them myself but I'm not sure I could do that quickly enough to the quality I'd like.

On e621 and FA, this picture of a big momma kitty loving on her guest received some nice comments. So I thought to post it on Newgrounds as well. If 5 or more of you have some old accounts you can dust off, consider giving it a rating vote. ^{}^

Commission completed for VTFur last May.
Jake, the human lad and these other two good bois, Travis and Bruce, are featured in the inspiring story "An Evening With Bruce and Travis" by: VTFur, in which Travis follows up on Bruce having finally worked up the nerve to share his true feelings with jake.
An event that lead up to all three of them having allot more feelings than they began with.
On a personal note, Bruce's face turned out so precious!

While working on this sketch, I came to the realization that Wolfy looks tired. I thought; ya know what? I'm tired too.
I'd recently done a blitz to distil and unify my voice and what I wanted to do with my support platforms while working on commissions. About the time I allowed myself time to breath and settle into the new flow, I stumbled over one heck of a road block, but this wolf-dog rolled onto his paws to keep on loping. Thankfully, the support from those at home, my recurring commissioners, and a little over half of my subscribers that moved to my new den on Subscribestar helped make that transition smoother than my fears projected.
While on the mend, I continue to take on new commissions while developing my characters and lore in the interims. Subscribestar will continue to be the den and sustenance for my growing mythos and evolving cast and that of my husband, Diablito. As well as new and returning commissioners that may wish to meet my characters and explore my worlds through the illustrations I create for them.

Hey there!
Just a heads up that I will be celebrating my Birthday this month on the 12th. It lands on a Friday, so I'll be taking the day off.
Just a heads up that I will be celebrating my Birthday this month on the 12th. It lands on a Friday, so I'll be taking the day off.
Ryder's first time getting this close to an alien creature of this nature was a fascinating experience for the both of them.
Verra bore an intimidating visage of a large chest, made larger by a thick carapace and large shoulders built to carry it. Mandibles fluttered on either side of her equally durable head, hinting at two sets of massive fangs and a row of smaller but no less thick and sharp looking teeth set behind them. Almost like an orca's dental was formed to fit in an extra wide sabertoothed cat-dog with leathery scales.
For all of her bulk, sharpness and ridged posture, Ryder was drawn in by a bright and playful glint in her eyes when they first made eye contact. Hugging her neck inspired a shift in her wight, lifting a fore leg to awkwardly mimic the gesture by grasping her talons about the man's leg. Leaning her head forward and cranking her neck towards him pressed her firm chest against him, trapping her heat against much of his side to begin nipping at his arm.
Instinctively, Ryder grabbed the beasts tongue like he were playing with a giant dog by grabbing it's playful bites. "Whoa, she just let's me grab on her and doesn't fight back." he thought as the tactile experience compelled his hand to knead into the thick muscle. Such was a relief after seeing even more of her teeth right in his face. "It's roughly textured on the surface, and yet so soft and squishy to rub on."
Little did he know, Verra was thinking the same thing as her fore paw kneaded on his thigh.
Commission completed for CrimsonDrider, last May.
Crimson chose one of my characters that have not received as much attention, to include in this commission as a gift for my Birthday - June 12th. Which I am sharing with you, on my birthday!
Inspired by the notion to blend my two favorite races from the Mass Effect series, I created a hybrid of Varren and Turian. Crimson thought my creation looked like a "Good Girl", and I must say that was an accurate observation.
She embodies the invasive tenacity of life on Tuchanka, and the deep seeded sense of community and disciplined stemming from the Turian's militarized culture. Much to Ryder's surprise, she's pretty well desensitized, open to touch, and practiced in handling creatures smaller than herself. For her species, I've considered calling them Verrian or similar but have yet to commit to it. Her name as an individual though, is Verra.
While this artwork is inspired by Mass Effect, Verra and her kind will be seeded throughout my personal mythos Infinite: Between Worlds as a species unique to it.

Commission completed for Killioma last May.
Getting this request from was a treat on several levels for having known Killioma for well over a decade, and for having admired his own artwork all the while. Killioma's art has a generous amount of thematic overlap with my own interests, with ample servings of gods, monsters, and visible differences in power and relationship dynamics. After his own work on my dragon I've been wanting a chance to practice his current design more and was thrilled to pounce on this project.
Killioma's variable sized gryphon Red, is such a sweetie and his familiarity with Sliv'oth as a godly entity makes this orange and cinnamon flavored bird a perfect fit for Sliv'oth's mouth with ample reverence to for the cosmic dragon to savor. Whether this is just a tasty tease, the start of Red's end after a life time of devotion, or a consumptious ride that is doomed to repeat, Red comfortably exudes his love for and trust in the dragon while not only accepting his fate, but welcoming the opportunity to serve.
I'm quite thrilled with several facets of this picture, from the cosmic theme of the backdrop and Sliv'oth himself, to curvature of Red's body pressed to Sliv'oth's tongue. His teeth and horns are as precious gems, but I wanted to keep the contrast of that classic pearly white toothy smile. So I played around with it and landed on this fogged glass effect to get that effect with just a hint of translucence. On the note of teeth, I also landed on a configuration for them that feels good with a blend of horse, dog, and orca DNA.
I finally figured out how to draw his lips and jowls in a way that pleases me tremendously! He's got that classic dog/cat black lower lip that many of us know and love with the addition of pillowy jowls. But the trick was getting jowls to behave like lips, more so horse lips, with thick and strong gestures with out loosing the feral jowl look. I finally pulled it off here, by learning this shapes of a pursed and lifted horse lip!

Good morning. Started the day at 6:30am and feeling good about it.
I began planning my next commission project, which is just a combination of my favorite things ever. No biggy.
If you've enjoyed the more significant size difference work I've shared, you're gonna love what I have in store. 💕

Commission completed for VTFur last May.
Two horses, one friend shaped 'stable boy'. This creation is inspired by VTFur's story, "A stable job", in which this man has a fantastic evening with his coworkers!
How has the year of the horse been for you?
I've been delighted by the influx of horses, and humans, that I've been commissioned to draw this year.
Keep em coming!
