Forwarded from Environment for UPSC by Dr Manmeet Kaur
The subject of Environment is often considered absurd, and rightly so.
Yet, it is very important for Prelims and somewhat important for Mains.
The sources I follow and strongly recommend all of you to follow (if you want to prepare well) are:
• NCERT Biology (Class 12th)
• Newspapers
• PIB
• Down to Earth Magazine
• Government websites
• Government and international reports

Doston, if you read newspaper, Especially for Mains, Make it Count ...
Whenever a question comes on India's energy security and west asia ,
You can use this image shown in today's Indian Express Article on how China is one of the reasons why energy crisis in Asia is not as Severe as expected
You can also show this as a bar graph to add VALUE to the answer
Once you consciously train your brain to do these small value additions in answers, a vast majority of your answers will start reflecting this unforced and natural way of adding values, not a template based straight jacketed factory made answers which every other institution is forcing you to use

Why some students get more marks in Socio than others
I think this framework will be helpful in explaining this
And can be helpful for a lot of students writing Mains this year
We can call it TASTE framework
It goes like this
(you can save this for later use as well)
Thinker Integration
Application (some present day use in society)
Structure (for, against, conclusion)
Transition (Flow of an answer)
Examples (data, case studies, judgments, recent events, etc)

Doston,
I've put together a short PSIR form ahead of the upcoming workshop.
Your responses will help me understand the group's key challenges, preparation gaps, and questions. I'll use them to shape the workshop agenda and prioritise the issues that matter most to you.
It should take about ~5 minutes to fill.

PSIR Marks Improvement Workshop
Hi, I am Aman Aloon, AIR 295 (CSE 2025).
The difference between my PSIR scores of 218 (2024) and 282 (2025) wasn't just about putting in more effort or hoping for better luck (though I certainly did plenty of both :') ).
Looking back, it also came from…

That is what I keep telling all my students that Sleepy’s known for its content …
And instead of calling sleepy’s content GS, we shall call it GS+
As it not only helps in acing UPSC CSE but because we keep track of what all is happening in so many other exams like CDS, CAPF, EPFO, APFC, State PSCs (like those of Punjab, Haryana, UPPSC, Uttarakhand, MPPSC, WBPSC, and others), and include their questions and PYQs in our content, our content also helps you ace these exams in addition to UPSC CSE
But in the end, we are just a bunch of teachers… providing the best of the content and classes… everything, literally everything is done by the student 🙏🙏
And that’s why we want to invite and reach all the students who are ready
And for that we are forever grateful to god that we’ve been able to reach hardworking students who value our content and get top ranks with their hardwork 🙏🙏
Touchwood , this shall never stop🤞
