Forwarded from Environment for UPSC by Dr Manmeet Kaur
The subject of Environment is often considered absurd, and rightly so.
Yet, it is very important for Prelims and somewhat important for Mains.
The sources I follow and strongly recommend all of you to follow (if you want to prepare well) are:
• NCERT Biology (Class 12th)
• Newspapers
• PIB
• Down to Earth Magazine
• Government websites
• Government and international reports

Doston, if you read newspaper, Especially for Mains, Make it Count ...
Whenever a question comes on India's energy security and west asia ,
You can use this image shown in today's Indian Express Article on how China is one of the reasons why energy crisis in Asia is not as Severe as expected
You can also show this as a bar graph to add VALUE to the answer
Once you consciously train your brain to do these small value additions in answers, a vast majority of your answers will start reflecting this unforced and natural way of adding values, not a template based straight jacketed factory made answers which every other institution is forcing you to use

Why some students get more marks in Socio than others
I think this framework will be helpful in explaining this
And can be helpful for a lot of students writing Mains this year
We can call it TASTE framework
It goes like this
(you can save this for later use as well)
Thinker Integration
Application (some present day use in society)
Structure (for, against, conclusion)
Transition (Flow of an answer)
Examples (data, case studies, judgments, recent events, etc)
