Business Expectations of the Services Sector
18% of firms in the services sector are upbeat about the business conditions while 9% foresee deteriorating business conditions, resulting in a net weighted balance of 9% of firms expecting a more favourable business outlook for the period of Oct 2023 – Mar 2024.

Business Expectations of the Manufacturing Sector
19% of firms in the manufacturing sector expect business conditions to improve while 12% foresee a weaker business outlook, resulting in a net weighted balance of 7% of firms anticipating an improved business situation for the period of Oct 2023 – Mar 2024.

Domestic wholesale sales decreased 12.1% in 3Q 2023 compared to 3Q 2022. Excluding petroleum, domestic wholesale sales fell 0.2%. Foreign wholesale sales declined 6.9% over the same period. Excluding petroleum, foreign wholesale sales dropped 8.1%.
