Major Release:- Alphabet Programming Language v2.3.6๐ฅ
We are pleased to announce Alphabet v2.3.6, a major architectural milestone that expands Alphabet from a multilingual programming language into a universal meta-compiler and language creation platform.
With Alphabet Forge, developers can now build, compile, and distribute their own programming languages from a single declarative .forge specification, without having to build an entire compiler toolchain from scratch.
1. Alphabet Forge
- Define complete programming languages using declarative ".forge" specifications.
- Supports custom metadata, headers, keywords, and PEG grammars.
- Packrat PEG parsing with native Alphabet AST generation.
- Dual execution through the Stack Bytecode VM or Native AOT C99 compiler.
- Supports GCC, Clang, MinGW, and WebAssembly targets.
- Generates standalone, white-labeled language toolchains.
- Automatically generates VS Code extensions, LSP servers, DAP debuggers, linters, documentation, and Web IDEs.
- Project scaffolding and bundling through "alphabet forge".
2. Reference Languages
- Nova:- Modern compiled language
- Zen:- Minimalist scripting language
- Lisp:- Functional language demonstrating compiler pragmas
3. Compiler Hardening
- Audited 585 source files and resolved 24 compiler, runtime, and packaging issues.
- 35/35 CTest suites passing with zero regressions.
- Improved type inference, pattern matching, standard library resolution, and abstract class enforcement.
- Fixed multilingual parsing across German, Spanish, French, and Amharic.
- Improved WebAssembly memory safety with rotating buffers.
Other platforms like VS Code extension and web IDE will be Upgraded Soon
