*Why is it difficult for many people to distinguish between different types of honey?*

Honey varies in color and taste depending on the flowers and trees the bees feed on, according to the location and season. Allâh Almighty says: *"Then eat of all fruits,"* and He also says: *"A drink of varying colors."*

Therefore, honey is often attributed to the type of fruit the bees primarily forage on, such as Sidr or Talh honey, even though the bees may feed on other nearby flowers. This is because Allâh instructed them to eat from all fruits, and the honey reflects the diversity of these foraging areas. This makes it difficult for those unfamiliar with different types of honey to distinguish them, and perhaps this is one of the reasons why many people find it difficult to differentiate between them.

Undoubtedly, some unscrupulous individuals exploit this lack of knowledge to engage in deception and fraud.

*لماذا يصعب على كثير من الناس تمييز العسل ؟*

يختلف العسل في لونه ومذاقه باختلاف ما يتغذى عليه النحل من أزهار وأشجار بحسب المكان والموسم؛ قال تعالى: *ثُمَّ كُلِي مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ* وقال سبحانه: *شَرَابٌ مُخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَانُهُ.*

ولذلك يُنسب العسل غالبًا إلى ما غلب على مرعى النحل، فيقال: عسل سدر أو طلح، مع أن النحل قد يرتع في أزهار أخرى مجاورة؛ لأن الله أوحى إليها أن تأكل من كل الثمرات، فيظهر في العسل أثر تنوع تلك المراعي، فيصعب على من لم يجرب أنواعه تمييزها، ولعل هذا من أسباب صعوبة تمييز العسل وأنواعه عند كثير من الناس.

ولا ريب أن بعض ضعاف النفوس يتخذون من هذا الجهل مطية للغش والتدليس.
