I genuinely unequivocally hate Funko pops. If you look at what bobble heads were in the 80s and 90s, they were actually detailed caricatures of the character. Funko came in and enshittified them to this god awful chibi template where everything is the same "sleek and elegant" (aka disgusting cookie cutter) design.
They look so incredibly generic that when they're not in their boxes they look almost indistinguishable from each other, and then you have the "rare" Funko pops that are just a tacky gold color or they bothered to mix some mica powder into 200 cube figures.
The soulless black eyes is just as empty as modern pop culture is, where the actors are essentially cardboard cutouts for a green screen to bullshit a set around them. There's no art, no fun or any real talent going into them whatsoever. Id say they're creepy but they're so bland and disposable that I don't think a spirit would ever inhabit one by choice.
They give me the same millineal-core vibes as a hipster microbrewery or burger bar. Made for someone upperclass with such a bland existence that anything remotely "cute" or "artsy" is immediately integrated into it as a "vibe".
I am specifically talking about the upperclass neo liberal that this junk is marketed towards.
