That just happened to one user today. In total, a silent crypto drainer swept $585K from just 4 victims in 11 hours.
There was no complex protocol hack. No leaked seed phrase. The victims were destroyed by the ultimate human hack: Approval Phishing.
They connected to a fake site (likely a fake airdrop or protocol clone) and a transaction popped up. It looked like a standard "verify" or "claim" button. But hidden in the code was an 'Approve' request giving the scammer's smart contract unlimited access to their WBTC.
⚠️ The hardest truth in Web3: Your hardware wallet CANNOT protect you if you connect it to a malicious site and physically sign a bad transaction. A hardware vault only works if you don't hand the thief the keys.
