He said, “God has permitted it in His Book and through the words of His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), so it is permissible until the Day of Resurrection.” He said, “O Abu Ja’far, someone like you says this, yet the Commander of the Faithful, Umar, has forbidden it.” He replied, “Even if he did.” He said, “I remind you that you are not permitting something that Umar has forbidden.” He said, “You follow the opinion of your companion, and I follow the opinion of the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). So come, let us invoke God’s curse upon you, for the truth is what the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said, and falsehood is what your companion said.” Then Abdullah ibn Umayr turned to him and said, “Would you be pleased if your wives, daughters, sisters, and cousins ​​do this?” Abu Ja’far (peace be upon him) turned away from him and his statement when he mentioned his wives and cousins.
