Checklist! (For #Physics 4531/3)

What to bring:

→ Protractor, ballpen, ruler, pencil, calculator, your brain
→ Bottle

Things to remember during the exam:

→ In your procedure, make sure the lengths have one decimal place (e.g. adjust the length of pendulum, l = 20.0cm)
→ Remember not to write the specific angle! Just saying small angle will do — because protractor isn't provided
→ Your graph should touch AT LEAST two points, other points shouldn't be further than 0.5 cm from the line
→ Make sure you draw the line of best fit
→ In the headings of your table, make sure you have written the units, as I'll include below:

Length of pendulum, l (cm) | t1 (s) | t2 (s) | t avg (s) | Period of oscillation, T (s) | T^2 (s^2)

→ Decimal places of each column should be the same (referring to the reminders section, put the decimal places according to the smallest decimal place your measuring instrument can measure):

For example, if you have decided you want the length column to have one decimal place, make sure all the lengths have only one decimal place, this is a factor in giving marks

What if they want the graph of T against l?

→ The graph of T against l is a curve, so don't draw a straight line

What is the best scale to draw the graph?

→ I prefer 0.2 on the y-axis (you should know for the x-axis)

Can I write gravitational acceleration as the constant variable?

→ If you want to lose marks then by all means darling

Should T^2 have two or three decimal places?

→ 2 decimal places are the best (to plot the graph)

Should I draw the axes of the graph on the edge or leave a box?

→ Depends on if you have enough space on the graph paper
