Amidst all of the FUD on Cosmos, it is very important for everyone to recognize the negative reflexivity that the Luna/UST collapse has caused on the ecosystem which remains till date. This negative effect has not only deleted a lot of money from existence, but it has also several decreased the rate of projects which have associated themselves with the Cosmos ideology and the IBC - in addition to adding fuel to the fire in internal ecosystem disputes.

On the bright side - also recognize that this negative reflexivity will soon end and an effect of positive reflexivity is about to begin as the ecosystem is poised to win its uphill battle.

The Cosmos ecosystem was at the epicenter of the largest financial disaster in the history of the crypto ecosystem in the year of 2022. The Luna/UST collapse which wiped out much more than just the DEX liquidity of every single coin in the Cosmos ecosystem.

There is no doubt that the Cosmos SDK tech stack is second to none. The Cosmos SDK is the only reliable stack that can be used to construct a sovereign chain. Of course there is always room and enhancement for modifications, but its clear that Cosmos can support high throughput requirements - Polygon has been doing just fine proving that premier L2 chains in the ETH ecosystem can operate on the Cosmos SDK.

Now the argument remains that; 'teams will build on Cosmos or fork it and not even care about the ecosystem'. Meanwhile new chains built on the Cosmos SDK like Initia act like they will take over and provide a replacement to what exists thinking that the Cosmos ecosystem is dead.

The entire UST/Luna debacle naturally dissuaded high performance teams from joining the Cosmos ecosystem ideologically from 2022 May onwards, while many promising teams continue to build on Cosmos SDK tech or derivatives of Tendermint BFT. If teams like Bera or Hyperliquid were launching in 2021, most likely they would associate themselves with the Cosmos ecosystem and enable IBC however after everything that has happened many teams enjoy echoing the pessimistic view of 'Cosmos is dead' and disassociate themselves from anything Cosmos ecosystem related.

However, when you have thousands of highly intelligent and passionate people and a tech stack that supports many, many highly successful sovereign chains (whether they accept it or not) in the crypto ecosystem - you can bet that the phoenix will rise from the ashes.

Now onto the positives; the Cosmos ecosystem will expand 10 fold from here because - REAL recognizes REAL. REGARDLESS of all the FUD, several highly successful projects that build on Cosmos WILL come and embrace it and put the ecosystem back on the map. More and more projects will join hands in a beautiful effect of positive reflexivity which has been unlocked by all of us due to perseverance and determination despite all odds. Within a years time, few will remember the current sentiment and we will be outnumbered by hundreds of thousands of new community members who only know of the success of the Cosmos ecosystem which will begin from here.

This statement can be justified by Babylon's acknowledgement of the Cosmos ecosystem and its proposed integrations with the ecosystem. Babylon is one of the most promising Bitcoin L2 networks out there and is considered a Tier 1 project, however instead of choosing an arrogant approach like other Tier 1 projects which have built on/forked Cosmos, Babylon choose to integrate and embrace the ecosystem.

Babylon's embrace of Cosmos shows that regardless of all of the negative events and the hardships that the Cosmos ecosystem has gone through, there is still respect, there is still promise, and there is still belief.

The ecosystem has still has not recovered from the UST collapse and this is quite evident in aggregate ecosystem DEX volumes from before and after the UST collapse. To be continued...

Osmosis is the best DEX in the Web 3 ecosystem and is highly regarded as having some of the most innovative tech, spoken about by reputed builders such as the founder of Eigen Layer. However, Osmosis has still been setback by the collapse of UST which the Osmo ecosystem is still recovering from. Until Osmo recovers, there is a suppression in the financial growth of the entire Cosmos ecosystem as a whole.

The internal disputes in the Cosmos ecosystem were amplified by the liquidity destruction created by the Luna/UST collapse with investors, validators and community members all experiencing tremendous losses - many of whom have not fully recovered till date.

Now to replace the hole that UST has created, USDC arrives in the Cosmos ecosystem and is backed by Noble which has led the wave of IBC integrated stablecoin innovation which will slowly but surely replace the hole that UST created.

It is an uphill battle no doubt, new founders who build and try to associate with this ecosystem will be dissuaded by many people to forget about Cosmos - or to just use the tech and not acknowledge that the ecosystem exists.

All respect to the builders who continue with strength. The crypto ecosystem may call us delusional to think that the Cosmos ecosystem can be revived. Embrace the power that the universe gives to underdogs with the right intention, and disprove the masses.
