What is this SDK?

The hype behind ETH L2 networks will fade into obscurity as we move further into the cycle. There is no real 'ETH security' taking place. What is the Sentinel AI Data Layer?

The Sentinel AI data layer is a protocol built on Sentinel's DePin L1 Chain that allows for individuals/organizations to retrieve data from the internet. In essence it is a distributed data scraping proxy service that is not too far in conceptualization from the Sentinel dVPN service.

Anyone will be able to become a data miner by installing the data miner node software on their Android device (iOS soon), and receive data scraping tasks and get paid for fulfilling these tasks.

Why is the AI Data layer important?

LLMs/AI Chatbots such as Chat GPT are supposed to accurately answer whatever we ask them to do. However, these chatbots can only achieve this if they are constantly updating themselves with data from the internet on a daily basis as the internet is ever evolving in real-time.

The scraping of data is essentially downloading data from a webpage, this scraping cannot be done effectively by cloud nodes as they get blocked easily and Sentinel's solution of using mobile phones is the most optimal solution due to the integrity with which mobile IPs are seen with by bot detection systems.

How is dVPN different from the data layer?

Both of these protocols are very similar.

In the Sentinel dVPN service the user establishes a real-time connection to the service provider or the exit node and requests data through an encrypted tunnel from websites/servers of the user's desire. Payment for dVPN/VPN services is most popularly in the form of $/unit of time.

In the Sentinel AI Data layer, there is the same function of a user fetching requested data from a website, however this data may or may not be downloaded by the user in real-time and instead may be saved in a data cache (e.g decentralized storage protocol like Jackal or IPFS). This means that the end-user does not have to establish an end to end tunnel in this case and potentially also be offline while data is stored in a cache (or regular storage solution based on client requiremnts) Payment for the AI Data layer will be likely in terms of bandwidth consumed as well as a factor of unique IPs utilized.

What is in Phase 1.1 of the Data Layer Testing?

The Phase 1.1 is an EXTREMELY rudimentary phase where the functional data mining application can be installed by users. There is NO reporting of the amount of bandwidth processed or the # of jobs completed so the user who is running the data miner has no idea on what the app is doing (unless 3rd party monitoring is used). The next update to come out soon will include a record of the bandwidth processed.

The PURPOSE of this Phase 1.1 is for the builders to test the completion of tasks and start sending data scraping jobs to the data mining nodes.

How is dVPN different from the data layer?

The Sentinel ecosystem strongly feels that the only currency of payment for subscriptions in the Sentinel Shield dVPN (http://shield.sentinel.co) should be $DVPN.

There will be Web 3 on-ramp solutions for users to purchase $DVPN in-app, for example the Swapfast solution (http://swap.sentinel.co). The Sentinel Shield dApp is Sentinel's flagship dVPN app which servers the purpose of educating the broader ecosystem about Sentinel and its purpose/technology while delivering fully end to end encrypted, open-source freedom.
