the next focus is the dVPN Node Dashboard (releasing soon) which will allow node hosts to see a complete overview of their dVPN node stats and earnings.

The node dashboard has already been reviewed by the community and there has been feedback given on it from dVPN node hosts.

With the release of the Node Dashboard the next focus will shift to the Node Leaderboard page which has also been completely designed and planned out.

The 'dVPN Node Leaderboard' will be launched following the node dashboard, and will highlight the most used nodes in terms of bandwidth and the most popular regions of dVPN nodes that are being used by individuals from all over the world.

The Sentinel ecosystem is committed to completing every utility that is requested by the community. There will be a high degree of focus on making dVPN node hosting much easier as well as one of the critical utilities.

Key Updates for node community:

1) Node Dashboard - The node dashboard APIs are nearly completed and the plan is for a launch in the next week hopefully. This dashboard will allow users to clearly view their earnings and see the subscriptions they've been added in and track earnings. Node hosts will also be able to see whether they've passed the health check or not.

2) Automated Pricing - dVPN/USD price from Osmosis will be soon be queried for nodes to set a USD pricing for services and avoid the hassle of changing dVPN prices manually.

3) Multiple Subscription Plans - New subscription plans will be established for residential nodes as well as nodes with special qualities that make them expensive to host (e.g Iran node). This encourages node hosts to offer more specialised services in exchange for a higher reward.

4) Subscription revenue share - dVPN nodes will be able to earn a % of rewards from total earnings generated by a subscription plan creator (dVPN app owner) allowing for exponential scaling of earnings despite time-based payments being at a fixed rate. This will begin with the on-chain revenue of the upcoming Sentinel dVPN flagship application

Key Focus Areas for End Dec to Jan

Coming to the end of the year it is great to see that the ecosystem has achieved all of its goals for 2024 except for the launch of the node dashboard and the flagship Sentinel dVPN application.

1) Flagship dVPN Application - The installer has been shared privately, however a critical node update is required for its optimal functionality. This node update will be released tomorrow requiring all node hosts to quickly update - and after this the app will begin to be shared inside community testing groups before it is given the thumbs up for a public launch.

2) Node Dashboard - The node dashboard will be released anytime today or before the 26th (most likely), allowing for dVPN nodes to view their earnings and their node's performance in real-time

3) Subscription Plan Segregation - Residential node subscription plan and other subscription plans will be established soon that will segregate the pricing, from Jan onwards node earnings will be based on the profile of their node - allowing for individuals hosting a residential node to earn more.

4) Multi-Hop Routing Architecture - V2 Sentinel application update will feature multi-hop which is easily configurable on Sentinel's wireguard network. This is a key priority for launch ASAP.

5) Application Marketing - A referral code system will be introduced into the applications along with a increased focus on social media marketing given that application functionality is now strong

6) Focus on Raspberry Pi Usage - A dedicated webpage for dVPN node hosting on Raspberry Pi devices is being established and incentives will be given for community members who publish guides and videos on running a dVPN node on a Raspberry pi which will encourage more residential nodes that can quickly attain their breakeven within the first 6 month ~ of operation.

The total number of unique users till date is falling shy of the year-end goal of 100k unique users by just under 4000 users.

This goal was established by the community months ago when the number of unique users was sub 50k. The next goal is 1 million unique users by Jan 1 2025

dVPN Node hosts will have to update their node to the latest version in order to be added into the on-chain subscription plans that will power the flagship Sentinel dVPN application.

More apps, higher stats! 1 million total users before the end of 2024 is the target and the Sentinel ecosystem has the ability to achieve it.

EMERGENCY UPDATE FOR NODES:

All cloud based dVPN nodes will have to set their pricing at 4.16 DVPN.

Feedback after this change will be taken while work is being done on the subscription management engine to properly categorise regions and other attributes.

The 200+ Residential nodes can set their pricing to: 13.7 DVPN/HR.

After 12 PM UTC tomorrow the subscription change will be taken into effect and all cloud nodes above this hourly pricing will be removed from the subscription list.

The goal is to keep the ability to node hosting permissionless while the number of apps and aggregate traffic scales up.

Node hosts in past months have earned a strong amount and have the ability to bear with the changes while proper categorization of nodes takes place. Now with node count crossing 10k the time to properly set node economics in place has come now.

While the goal is to maintain a strong network of dVPN cloud server providers, the goal is to also scale up the Residential node ecosystem and create a marketplace for AI data scraping

Update on Flagship Sentinel dVPN Application:

The flagship application has been completed (back-end/logic) however the launch of the application and the testing process has been delayed as the front-end development of the application has not cleared internal testing (before community testing) and is currently being completely refactored. This application is the first to be built in recent times with a React.js front-end and more experienced resources have been brought on to ensure that there is a fully polished application which has a very smooth touch and feel. The goal is for testing to begin before the 20th of this month.

Other white-label applications continue to roll out with the launch of Breadcrumbs in the coming month + as well as Caishen VPN (a VPN focused on China) launching soon
