An average of 5-10 users per week are using their credit cards to purchase dVPN for bandwidth payments on the Meile dVPN app made by the MathNodes team.

Sentinel's goal is to bring dVPN services to the mainstream user.

Watch this short video showing the dVPN credit card on-ramp.

From this month we will see an exponential rise in network utility with a restarting of the node incentivization program and the likely introduction of the v2ray protocol.

This is a strong start for the Meile application which will be constantly iterated on for improved design and UX.

The official release of the Sentinel V2Ray dVPN node is now available and the community can now host nodes on Akash Network's decentralized cloud infrastructure.

https://github.com/sentinel-official/dvpn-node/releases/tag/v0.5.0

dVPN nodes will soon be able to support payment in AKT after a future proposal passes.

Previously, the only networking protocol integrated with the Sentinel Hub was wireguard, which is not compatible with the decentralized instances available on Akash. Hosting on Akash network will be promoted as a superior alternative to hosting on cloud infra such as OVH

White-label applications will be encouraged to indicate on their application front-end whether dVPN nodes are hosted on centralized cloud providers or not by using IP lookup services.

Lets end the cloud oligopoly today and support revolutionary solutions such as Akash.

A fiat on-ramp for purchasing $DVPN for bandwidth on #Alipay has been launched by a contributor.

Link (will not work in English browser): https://95yu.xyz/?mod=buy&tid=6

This integration allows for dVPN to more easily access the Chinese userbase.

Currently community members can host V2Ray nodes however users will have to wait until the imminent launch of the V2Ray CLI client which will allow for direct connection to V2Ray node providers before white-label applications make the integration allowing for users to directly connection.

This payment gateway is the 4th payment gateway in the dVPN ecosystem which allows for mainstream users to purchase DVPN tokens using fiat on-ramps.

- Solar dVPN in-app iOS gateway
- Solar dVPN in-app Android gateway
- Meile Windows/Mac/Linux Desktop dVPN gateway
- Alipay gateway

The first dVPN node hosted on the Akash decentralized cloud network has been successfully tested.

The Akash network provides a superior alternative to centralized cloud providers. Node hosts are encouraged to host their node on Akash as compared to providers such as AWS or OVH.

This is just the beginning of the journey that the Sentinel ecosystem will embark on with the utility that the Akash network provides. Look out for more symbiotic integrations between both networks coming soon!

UPDATE: After three weeks of working with Apple Support, we finally succeeded in submitting a request for an Apple Developer key.

This is crucial in our ongoing development of Apple and iOS apps for security and trust with our userbase. Successful enrollment in to the Apple Developer Program will allow us to sign our Apple apps and be authenticated for listing in the Apple Store.

Stay tuned as we will continue to provide updates on securing the necessary developer key.

Announcement: Node Hosts required for White-Label POC - Whitelist Opening Tomorrow

What is going on? - The Node Incentive program will be re-opening for community members. Community members will be incentivized to host nodes to provide bandwidth to the users of a White-Label POC (proof of concept) application that will be soon launched.

Why a node incentive program now? - As discussed in February, a successful centralized VPN application is considering to launch dVPN applications built on Sentinel and will be undertaking a POC in order to test the network before making further decisions on network transition. This organization currently has a VPN with over 1 million daily active users and over 13 Million total downloads. This POC aims to reach a minimum of over 20k users within the first months in order to stress-test the Sentinel network.

What work has been done in the past month on integration? - This experience was the first experience where Sentinel's core networking side contributors have interacted with a real centralized VPN team intending to migrate their architecture onto Sentinel's stack. This experience allowed for the creation of stronger onboarding processes including more specific integration documentation as well as a brand new Sentinel Rest Client that was released recently making API integrations easier.

https://github.com/sentinel-official/rest-client/releases

https://gist.github.com/0xbas3d/f9f806b4dca350db8027d190c9a8ea58 (recently introduced integration documentation)

Why is this node incentive program for a private group of nodes? - Currently the POC dVPN application will be intending to provide free VPN access to its userbase and will be using Sentinel's on-chain subscription system to allocate free bandwidth to users. Currently the on-chain subscription system does not allow a creator to add paid nodes from the public dVPN node list and only allows for node hosts to manually join an active subscription without the ability to set any pricing. This inconvenience is temporary as there will be the ability for subscription owners to add paid nodes into a subscription with the upcoming protocol upgrade proposal. For the time-being, node hosts will have to manually add their node to an active subscription in order to be eligible for this airdrop.

What is the geo-location focus of the nodes? The geo-location focus of the nodes is in the Middle East as well as South East Asia as the intention is for the nodes to have a closer proximity to Iran which is the main focus group of this POC.

The desired countries for these nodes include: Singapore, UAE, Thailand, Vietnam, India

More information will be released on incentives and other specifics pertaining to this incentive program for powering one of the first applications being launched on Sentinel by a real centralized VPN provider.

Hey guys,

Today we've launched possibility to pay with Visa/MasterCard worldwide, special Visa/MasterCard and MIR cards from Russia (we made an additional effort towards Russia because we find it critically imporant to let people read independent media).

Also today you may pay with common cryptocurrencies (BTC/ETH/USDT/USDC/DAI) and etc.

Tomorrow we will be launching additional support for more cryptocurrencies (such as $DVPN, $OSMO, $ATOM and etc) and also support of variety of payment systems such as PayPal, QIWI, Bancontact, Paysafecard and etc.

Subscription can be purchased here:

Sentinel's interactive map based dVPN Node explorer is now live at map.sentinel.co

Filter the map view between V2Ray and Wireguard nodes and even see a dedicated view of all dVPN nodes which are hosting HNS resolvers.

Also search for nodes by country or city and see their protocol type along with other information after clicking on them.

Future updates to the interactive dVPN node explorer will include node pricing information as well as accepted currencies for payment by the node.

The code for this application will soon be released on GitHub and there will be rewards offered for community contribution to make this tool as resourceful as possible. More utilities to be introduced in the near future include a node leaderboard and a dedicated network statistics page with charts.

Anyone can create their own network utilities with Sentinel's open stats API infrastructure.

The newly revamped Solar Labs Android and iOS applications that will soon be re-launched feature a dVPN wallet and will be integrating all major cosmos IBC enabled tokens for payment for DVPN related services.

The Cosmos ecosystem is about to get taught on how to respect real legitimate product development this year by projects like AKT and DVPN instead of non-stop infighting and fudding

The DVPN community and the broader community must learn to put some respect on Litrevs name and realize the attention to detail and the awareness of user feedback that he has. Litreev embodies the archetype of a real cypherpunk and has risked his life in the process as well. If anyone wants to transparently see the geo-political impact Litreev has made please translate:

Approval of the new Solar Labs
iOS and Android application is imminent.

This new application allows for payments to be made using several Cosmos based tokens which can be converted to dVPN for use to spend on bandwidth.

The future application upgrade will allow for direct node payments in different Cosmos based currencies to dVPN nodes which have white-listed these currencies as an acceptable payment.

The new Solar Labs application will be fully sourced and the different functions of the application can be configured by community developers.
