Community hosted #dVPN exit-nodes on Sentinel have crossed 2000 for the first time since the network's inception in 2018.

Whether bull or bear, the utility of the $dVPN network has only increased since 2018. From 2018 to 2021 Sentinel's dVPN on ETH reached 500k + downloads.

From 2021 to current times, Sentinel's dVPN network on Cosmos has been growing exponentially in every metric whether it is the # of daily user sessions, or bandwidth consumed in a 24hr period.

The performance of Sentinel's dVPN network on Cosmos is much more impressive as compared to its performance on ETH as Sentinel's Cosmos based dVPN network is a paid service while the ETH based network was completely free and was more of a 'proof of concept'.

Sentinel's launch on Cosmos allows for users to make microtransactions for bandwidth purchases as compared to ETH's inefficient gas system.

The MathNodes team (involving @freQniKs and others) is building and will soon launch a desktop #dVPN application for Linux and Mac OS X devices. This desktop application runs on Sentinel's Hub and utilizes its community-hosted node pool.

The UI/UX and design is currently a work-in-progress and there will be continuous process of iteration as dVPNs built on Sentinel continuously upgrade over-time in order to have a similar aesthetic and user experience quality to that of centralized VPN applications.

There are over 2700 paid users actively connected to the $dVPN network at 430 AM UTC June 24!

A new record with # of daily sessions with over 7000 dVPN sessions established on June 24th so far.

Seeing nearly 3000 people connected to the Sentinel dVPN network at the same time, while paying for dVPN services gives us a glimpse of what the future holds for Sentinel.

dApps built on Sentinel are some of the first in the Cosmos as well as overall blockchain ecosystem, to be able to provide real utility to even mainstream consumers who do not have any knowledge or experience in the areas decentralized blockchain based currencies.

Another week brings another all time high for the Sentinel Network.

A record 3268 nodes were active on the network on Wednesday 6 July 2022. That's up from 27 from 6 July 2021 representing a 12,000% increase.

The network is not only growing, it's thriving and will only continue to expand as more nodes and whitelabel dVPNs are deployed.

Core Sentinel Update - 18 July

Decentr Browser Integration - Special thanks to BadgerBite and Seventh for spearheading the integration with the decentr browser. Read more here:

This working integration is Sentinel's first working dVPN implementation that is compatible with desktop devices.

Desktop Clients - The Solar Labs dVPN desktop clients will be soon available for testing and the previews will be shared in the coming days.

The Math Nodes desktop application is also near completion and has multiple new features and functions that have been added since the last update. You can watch the latest update video posted in the public group.

Network Tokeneconomics Update - High inflation economic theory in chains based on Cosmos is now largely changing from the events of the past months and Sentinel will be one of the forerunners of the economic change and will be making inflationary reductions. More information will be shared on this before the end of the month.

Network Architecture Update - Currently the Sentinel dVPN network built on Cosmos uses Wireguard, however wireguard does not have a sophisticated relay architecture within the protocol itself. Several other superior networking protocols are being researched now which have sophisticated in-built relay networks that would realistically take the dVPN ecosystem a lengthy time to develop in-house. Integration of relay networks is of paramount importance both for the security of the future hardware bandwidth miners as well as for a user's anonymity from their desired exit node.

In the month of August most likely there will be an update on the finalized networking architecture going forward, and there may be a process of node host and client application migration. However right now the focus is to continue increasing the number of active nodes, users, as well as applications built on the Sentinel dVPN stack.

dVPN Node Incentivization - There have been several participants who have attempted to game the incentive system as the criteria for reward was not robust enough to prevent the abuse, so the system is being re-designed and will be announced soon.

Sentinel Hub Upgrade Scheduled for Later in October - The Hub upgrade scheduled for later in October is an extremely important upgrade and includes:

- Upgrading the Sentinel Hub to the newest version of the Cosmos SDK
- Enforcing minimum dVPN node pricing
- Adding CosmWasm smart contract capabilities on the Hub
- Long term staking contracts incentivizing users to receive a higher inflation rewards in exchange for longer term minimum staking periods

Minimum dVPN Node Pricing - The 'Minimum dVPN Node Pricing' update will ensure the economic feasibility for dVPN node hosts to provide services. This minimum pricing standard will be determined through governance proposals and will be voted on by the community.

Reinstatement of Node Reward Structure - The patience of the node host community is extremely appreciated in these times as a proper solution for incentivization that cannot be gamed is worked towards. Since the temporary suspension of the program a considerable number of nodes that were abusing the system have been taken offline. Along with the reinstatement of the program as well as the addition of the minimum node pricing, the economics for node hosts will become much more robust as compared to the earnings in the recent times.
