Sentinel's Cosmos based sovereign blockchain is now processing IBC transfers as well as 'status updates' from WireGuardVPN-based dVPN nodes hosted on Sentinel.
Example of a dVPN node 'status update' message:

Nodes hosted on Sentinel communicate with its blockchain periodically to indicate their status and other properties.
Simply put, dVPN applications built on Sentinel will only go down if Sentinel's chain goes down.
The user's application will query the blockchain in order to populate the list of available nodes and various other data about the node.

The Sentinel dVPN network is used by over 400k devices (mobile + desktop) and will soon transition to Cosmos from Ethereum.
Sentinel will allow for users to 'mine bandwidth' from their own router, and will encourage tens of thousands of hardware devices to provide bandwidth.
Sentinel's dVPN nodes on Cosmos are being designed to be compatible with any Open-WRT enabled router, and users will not be restricted to purchasing affiliated routers and can use their own.
Indigitus VPN has the first router supporting Sentinel's Wireguard dVPN exit-nodes on Cosmos are now open-sourced and are being hosted by community members for users of the CLI dVPN client.
After the release of the desktop dVPN application, the node incentivization program will commence.

Sentinel is excited to announce its much-awaited dVPN incentive programs on its own native Hub that the community can participate in. These incentive programs are funded in DVPN tokens and these programs will be made available immediately following the new Desktop client release. This post provides an introduction to the various incentive programs and there will be follow-on articles with more thorough details.
We hope that the community is prepared for the massive network expansion and growth that the Sentinel ecosystem will soon experience, similar to the exemplary results that Sentinel’s first incentive program yielded in 2018.
With the transition of the Sentinel 'Decentralized VPN' network from Ethereum to cosmos, a series of incentive programs will soon commence targeting:
- Node hosts
- dVPN application users
- White-label operators
- DVPN token stakers
- Ecosystem Developers
*Incentives related to ‘Bandwidth Mining’ done by physical Hardware devices operating as Sentinel dVPN nodes will be detailed in another article.
*All incentives will start after the new Desktop application is launched

SENTINEL $SENT ERC20 TOKEN SWAP ENDING 1st of September
Swap your ERC20 tokens to $dVPN tokens on Sentinel's Hub
LINK: swap.sentinel.co
Sentinel is now a fully Cosmos native project, and in the coming months all bandwidth providers operating on Sentinel's ETH based dVPN will transition over fully to Sentinel's Cosmos based dVPNs.
The Sentinel mainnet launched on March 27, 2021, and people who have still not swapped their tokens yet have sufficient time to swap their tokens to Sentinel's Cosmos based main net, and stake their $DVPN tokens to generate staking rewards.
27 March 2021- 1st September 2021 - Nearly a 5 months swap window
There will be constant updates and also communication with exchanges that are supporting the ERC-20 token on the swap.

Sentinel's first Cosmos based dVPN application on iOS will be available for public beta testing within the next 10 days!
This app features a DVPN wallet, and allows users to utilize Sentinel's p2p bandwidth marketplace which is already active on the Sentinel hub through CLI
Sentinel's bandwidth marketplace on Cosmos has over 50 'bandwidth miners' from who have provided the community with over 100 GB in throughput to date.
Thanks to all bandwidth miners for participating even before the commencement of the incentive program.

The Sentinel DVPN framework establishes a new paradigm of trusted and secure networking while also bringing in tremendous energy efficiency through the utilization of shared resources.
Individuals use VPN applications all over the world to access the internet securely, and the current VPN market is dominated by centralized VPN companies, which are energy inefficient as they depend on:
> Centralized Datacenter Utilization for VPN nodes
> Centralized Technical Operations

Announcement - Unlock Extension
We would like to thank Sentinel's spectacular community for supporting the network and its growth over the past four years.
The month of September 2021 is the most important month in the history of the Sentinel ecosystem to date as Sentinel's first user-facing Cosmos-based dVPN mobile applications will be released, and right after that the dVPN desktop applications are scheduled to launch in October.
The Sentinel ecosystem first began in 2017, the peer-to-peer bandwidth network launched in early 2018, and development on Cosmos began in mid 2018. Over the years, Sentinel launched four different Cosmos-based testnets and also participated in both of Cosmos's community hackathon events earning accolades in both with significant success in the 'Game of Zones' competition.
For the past three years, Sentinel has maintained a highly successful dVPN network on Ethereum which has powered two Android dVPN applications currently installed on over 400,000 devices and used by thousands of unique users per day. The Velocity and Sentinel dVPN Android applications showed the potential for dVPN applications to be some of the first dApps to actually access the mainstream consumer base which is largely untapped by almost all dApps.
Sentinel's dVPN network on Ethereum was always intended to be a temporary network as it was clear that Ethereum did not offer Sentinel's dVPN framework architecture what it required from a Layer 1 protocol. Sentinel's dVPN applications on Ethereum required a centralized masternode for node-query and discovery, however on Cosmos, Sentinel uses its own hub as a DHT where nodes communicate with the blockchain periodically for users to query available nodes directly from the chain. On Ethereum, Sentinel dVPN nodes depend on centralized components and the network couldn't be regarded as a 'real dVPN'.
Now, Sentinel has a truly decentralized dVPN.
Sentinel's biggest milestone till date has been to launch user-facing dVPN applications on its own Cosmos-based hub due to the tremendous benefits in terms of scalability and governance structures, along with the elimination of smart contracts with the application logic layer.
The whole ecosystem has been waiting for this month for several years, and now this month Sentinel launches its first Cosmos-based mobile and desktop dVPN applications along with a node incentivization program. Node hosts have been waiting to host a Sentinel Cosmos-based WireGuard node and earn revenue doing so.
Users have been waiting to use a Sentinel dVPN application without having to have ETH or any other test-token as gas. As of this month, users will be able to leverage Sentinel's native token at near instant transaction speeds on a Tendermint pBFT based consensus layer.
Several enterprising community members and external organizations and individuals have been waiting patiently for the release of Sentinel's new Cosmos-based dVPN applications to fork them, modify them with their own brand, and launch their own whitelabeled dVPN applications, like Velocity has successfully done of Sentinel's Ethereum-based dVPN.
This is the most important month in Sentinel's history till date and the releases that happen in this month are what Sentinel requires to exponentially scale its community in terms of token stakers, node hosts, and white-label providers.
In the best interest of the ecosystem, with the intention of allowing the impact of the releases to properly mature, Sentinel will be postponing all foundation/team related token unlocks and recent investor unlocks by three months and will be issuing a proposal regarding the same.
We appreciate the community's support over the past four years and we look forward to disrupting the centralized VPN industry by empowering individuals and organizations all over the world to launch their own decentralized and provably secure dVPN application.

The Private Beta testing of Sentinel's new Cosmos based Android dVPN Application has now commenced and will be followed by the public beta testing program.
This mobile applications allow for users to pay for for dVPN services on the Sentinel network with DVPN tokens.
Following the launch of dVPN mobile applications with crypto payment gateways, Sentinel will also release Android and iOS apps that are configured for traditional payment gateways and do not include the functionality of DVPN wallet transfers.
Mainstream adoption is key
It is expected that a majority of white-labelled dVPN applications built on the Sentinel framework will utilize mainstream fiat payment gateway integrations to be able to cater to the broader market outside of the crypto ecosystem.
