It’s much easier for #anthropocentrism to simply not consider out-group sentients. Just ignore them. Don’t even reference them. Unthinkingly assume only (some?) humans matter. The scope is already set.
Because explicitly morally excluding out-group sentients is unjustifiable.
And once you include some of them... you have to include them all 💚

Hi all. We don't have Sentientism on any UK curricula yet but I've been really encouraged with the response as I reach out to people in the "religious and worldviews education" world here. Articles and webinars have been suggested and requested. Organisations like WASACRE, NASACRE, AREIAC (yes I can explain all these acronyms if you like 😀), RE Hubs (most regions), Jigsaw Education, RE Today and VINE are in touch and the latter two have already developed materials including Sentientism. I've also reached out to a chunk of the local "SACRES" (committees that set local curricula for schools) and have interested responses from Hull, East Yorkshire, Bristol, Coventry, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Swindon and Wiltshire... I've also done workshops for 2 actual schools! As ever, feedback and ideas are welcome. If you'd like to help nudge Sentientism into education whether in the UK or elsewhere in the world please let me know as I'd love to help!
