On Tuesday, when Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the ceasefire, he said it would apply "everywhere, including Lebanon and elsewhere."
Shortly afterward, Netanyahu issued a statement claiming the ceasefire did not include Lebanon. The U.S. did not make its own position clear prior to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt's statement to Axios.
A senior U.S. official said Netanyahu raised the issue of Lebanon in a phone call with President Trump shortly before the announcement of the ceasefire.

The Global Sumud Flotilla announced it will set sail in two days, as Israel continues starvation, bombardment, displacement, and torture in Gaza and the occupied West Bank despite a declared ceasefire.
The group said international attention has shifted toward U.S.-Israeli attacks in Iran and Lebanon, while Israeli attacks in Palestine have intensified, including the law of execution against Palestinian detainees and expanded land seizures.
The flotilla stated it aims to challenge global inaction, saying it refuses to remain silent as governments and mainstream media “turn away” from the situation on the ground.
