According to world statistics data in 2019, the suicide rate in ethiopia was 9.4 per 100,000 people which is 11,000+ people lost their battle in that year in ethiopia. But we don't talk about it and it even seems taboo to discuss about suicide in our country. As a medicine student we can feel overwhelmed at a times and we may feel hopeless but it all pass . Suicide is not the solution. Lets reach our friends and appreciate others to seek help. Without mental health there is no health. We don't know who is struggling so be kind💜

🌍 Calling all African Medical Students! 🩺🌟
Greetings, my name Dawit Tesfagiorgis, MD, my team and I are conducting a research and would like your participation.
As future healthcare professionals, we understand the challenges and demands that come with pursuing a medical career. The journey can be both rewarding and demanding, often leaving us susceptible to burnout. However, little is known about the prevalence of burnout and its potential impact on their preferred specialty selection.
That's why we are embarking on a research study to assess burnout across African medical students and explore its influence on specialty choices.
So, are you ready to make a difference? Join us in this endeavor and let your voice be heard

International medical research exchange programs offer medical students and professionals the opportunity to gain research experience in different settings and cultures. These programs are typically organized by universities, research institutions, and professional organizations, and provide participants with access to cutting-edge research facilities, expert mentors, and diverse patient populations.
Some popular international medical research exchange programs include:
1. Fulbright Scholar Program: The Fulbright Scholar Program offers grants for medical professionals to conduct research or teach abroad. Participants can choose from a range of countries and research areas, and receive support for travel, living expenses, and research costs.
2. Global Health Fellows Program: The Global Health Fellows Program is a USAID-funded initiative that provides opportunities for health professionals to work on global health projects around the world. Participants can choose from short-term assignments or long-term fellowships, and work on projects related to HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health, and other global health issues.
3. International Clinical Research Fellowship: The International Clinical Research Fellowship is a program offered by the Wellcome Trust that provides funding for medical professionals to conduct clinical research in low- and middle-income countries. Participants receive training in research methods, ethics, and cultural awareness, and have the opportunity to work with local health professionals and communities.
4. International Research Opportunities Program: The International Research Opportunities Program is an initiative of the American Medical Association that provides funding for medical students to conduct research projects abroad. Participants can choose from a range of countries and research areas, and receive support for travel, living expenses, and research costs.
5. International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA): The IFMSA offers a range of research exchange programs for medical students, including SCORE (Standing Committee on Research Exchange) which facilitates research exchanges for medical students around the world.
When researching international medical exchange programs, it is important to consider factors such as program duration, eligibility requirements, funding options, and available support services. It is also important to ensure that the program aligns with your research interests and career goals.

Introducing EMSA-HMC and EMSA-ECUSTA groundbreaking initiative,
☀️PROJECT ORIYARES ☀️
🗣️A volunteering project with a mission to provide financial support for patients who can't afford treatment at Zewditu Memorial Hospital🏩
Financial shortage results in patients discontinuing essential medications, not getting laboratory examinations and imaging tests done, and eventually being discharged without fully recovering at the least.
In the past there have been efforts to collect a small sum of money by students whenever patients were in need, but the efforts lacked organization and consistency, hence this project aims to address this issue with a structured system that can be passed down to upcoming batches.
Together, we can create a healthier and happier community
Saving lives one prescription at time!!

Researchers grow embryonic humanized kidneys inside pigs for 28 days
Researchers have successfully created chimeric embryos containing a combination of human and pig cells. When transferred into surrogate pig mothers, the developing humanized kidneys had normal structure and tubule formation after 28 days. This is the first time that scientists have been able to grow a solid humanized organ inside another species, though previous studies have used similar methods to generate human tissues such as blood or skeletal muscle in pigs.
