मिथ्या क्र. १ -
ब्राह्मणों और सवर्णों के अत्याचारों से त्रस्त होकर अम्बेडकर ने हिंदू धर्म त्याग दिया।

वस्तुस्थिति -
भीमराव के पिता का मूलतः नाम था रामजी सकपाळ, किंतु भीमराव का उपनाम अम्बावडेकर था, क्योंकि मराठी जनमानस के उपनाम अधकांश रीति से अपने ग्राम के नाम पर रखे जाते थे। अपितु भीमराव के एक ब्राह्मण अध्यापक ने भीमराव को स्नेहपूर्वक, आशीर्वाद स्वरूप अपना ब्राह्मण उपनाम "अम्बेडकर" प्रदान किया था। और क्षत्रिय कुल के बड़ोदरा के महाराजा ने भीमराव की U.S.A. के विश्वविद्यालय की महँगी, उच्च शिक्षा का प्रायोजन भी किया था।
इसके अतिरिक्त भीमराव ने स्वयं से लगभग २० वर्ष छोटी ब्राह्मण लड़की से विवाह किया था जिसने वृद्ध और रोगों से पीड़ित अम्बेडकर की मनःपूर्वक इतनी सेवा-सुश्रुषा की कि अम्बेडकर का कहना था कि उनके जीवन के २० वर्ष बढ़ गए।
