AstraVerse in Ancient Bharat : Part 2
Philostratus , a Greek sophist of 170 CE , wrote a book on the famous greek Philosopher , Apollonius of Tyana ( 15 - 98 CE ).
I will tell you more about it , especially construction and how to use this along with some other related weapons mentioned in Ancient texts in the next part.

Philostratus , a Greek sophist of 170 CE , wrote a book on the famous greek Philosopher , Apollonius of Tyana ( 15 - 98 CE ).
In this book he talks about a popular Greek Folklore ; the invasion of Father Bacchus ( Dionysus ) and Hercules to India. He says :
" When They attacked India in order to capture the country , first they got no response for their attack. The sages of India were quiet.
But as soon as they reached near them , they were chased and hurled by Big rockets of Fire and thunderbolts which were thrown obliquely and fell upon their armour. "
A sign of 3 Astras :
1. Vajrastra
2. Agneyastra / जामद्गन्य
3. Fire Catapult / शतघ्नी / Bazookas

Apollonius on Vedic Culture and behavior of Brahmins !!
Philostratus wrote in his book :
He later says that Brahmins prayed to Sun god for well being of Bharat. Every midday they sing a mantra/hymn to praise him. They don't have home & they worship fire.
Now see in the next pic that what are Greek Rites and compare them with Vedic ones by yourself.
Ignore the Animal sacrifice and meat eating by these people , because as per Megasthenes Indica , these brahmins never touched meat. Take this just as an example for better understanding.

Philostratus wrote in his book :
" Apollonius described that when Greeks come to India , they saw a lots of statues of Egyptian , Indian and most ancient greek gods. They weren't much as surprised to find these statues , what was even more shocking that the most ancient greek gods were being worshipped by them with greek rites. "
Mentioned Gods and their Vedic equivalent :
1. Athena - Devi Durga/Saraswati
2. Apollo - Suryadev
3. Dionysus : Lord Shiva { as per indica }

Guns ,Cannons and Gunpowder : [ basis of all firearms ]
ShukraNeeti , also mentioned in Kamandakiya nitisara { 4th century BC } mentions that Astras are of 2 types :
Nalika is divided into 2 types :
1. Gun i.e. लघु नालिका
2. Cannon i.e. बृहन्नालिका
Ammo/Bullet of Gun is made from सीसा i.e. Lead {Pb} whereas cannonball of लौह i.e. Iron ; also can contain 2 small bullets in it.
Body of Guns and Cannons are made of durable substances like Iron and others metals. Also tells how to make them and use them in war.

2. Nalika { used by Gunpowder } : Like Guns , cannon , primitive Bazookas like Shataghni etc.
In 4th Adhyaya , It says clearly about
1. Making Gunpowder i.e. अग्निचूर्ण with the help of सुवर्चिलवण [Saltpetre] , गन्धक [Sulphur] , अङ्गारः [Charcoal] as main ingredients.
Surprisingly , the Modern composition of Gunpowder is same , with some minute differences.
Nalika is divided into 2 types :

A renowned scholar of Vedas and social reformer , Swami Dayanand Saraswati also believed in the existence of Various Astras.
He normalised the Astras very much. It seems he was quite obsessed with the great knowledge of Ancient Bharatvarsha.
