I would recommend these two files.

1) Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars, An Introduction Programming Manual came from CIA training centre in 1979.
It's been verified by 4 different independent sources. Some of what's in there is chilling and black mirror esque. Think that's where the world is heading.

2) "Properganda" by Bernays 1928.
The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organised habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. We are governed, our minds moulded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of.

I think we are in deep shit. There is a conspiracy at play and it's inevitable. Both pretty short and easy to read.
