A Small Question That Reveals a Big Truth…
If we ask a child today:
“Bhojan kaisa hona chahiye and how to express gratitude towards it and why?”
we will hear many different answers — ranging from being tasty, fast, fancy, spicy…
But how many children will also say:
“Bhojan Bhagwan ka prasad hona chahiye.”
or
“Pehle hum pranam karte hain.”
Very few.
Not because they are wrong — but because these values are no longer naturally reinforced
around them.
Ironically, in many Western homes, children are taught to bow their head, say a prayer, and
express gratitude before eating, a practice that originally comes from our own Sanatan culture.
There are countless such basic values — humility, gratitude, purity, discipline —that no modern
school teaches, but a Gurukul naturally cultivates from a very young age.
If we want our children to stay rooted in Dharma while growing in the modern world, we must
give them the environment where these values are lived, not just spoken.
