🌏[Biodiversity Hotspots in India]

1. Himalayan Hotspot:
Home to the tallest mountains like Mt. Everest 🏔️, this region has ecosystems from grasslands to high-altitude meadows. Even plants grow above 6,000 meters. It’s a safe place for animals like vultures, tigers, and rhinos.

2. Indo-Burma Hotspot:
Covering over 2 million sq. km, this area keeps revealing new species like the large-antlered deer. It’s also home to many endangered turtles 🐢 and around 1,300 bird species.

3. Sundaland Hotspot:
Java and Sumatra islands are some of the last places for rhinos and orangutans. But industrial logging and illegal animal trade are harming this region’s unique wildlife.

4. Western Ghats-Sri Lanka Hotspot:
These forests are shrinking fast, with only 1.5% of Sri Lanka’s original forest left 🌳. Despite this, the area is home to animals like Asian elephants, Indian tigers, and many unique frogs.
After these rigorous sessions, where students write answers to quality UPSC Mains Level Questions in 7 minutes each, Mudit Sir addresses all their queries.

Live Answer Writing Sessions are effective because writing within a fixed timeframe builds muscle memory. In the real exam, your hands move naturally thanks to the content and practice from MAP+.

MAP+ (Exclusive Offline for UPSC 2025 Aspirants) starts on the 2nd of September.

[Places in News] Golan Heights

It is a strategic basaltic plateau in the southwest corner of Syria. It is bordered by the Yarmouk River in the south, the Sea of Galilee and Hula Valley in the west, the Anti-Lebanon mountains with Mount Hermon in the north, and Wadi Raqqad in the east.

Two thirds of the area was occupied by Israel following the 1967 Six-Day War and then effectively annexed in 1981, which was rejected by the international community that continues to consider the territory as Syrian and under Israeli occupation.
