It's raining today, so probably not much exciting going on. I'm thankful for the rain though, because apparently much of the US is in super drought. So every drop is a blessing.

Now we will delve into history. As far back as you look mankind has lived in the edge of forests and woods. Even Adam lived in a garden not a forest. Very seldom do you see a people group living in the forest. There are several reasons behind this. For one even though we are the alpha, the apex predator on every continent, we are still capable of being hunted. All of the other predators live in the woods from big cats to wolves and just about everything inbetween. It is just safer to live on the edge. For two it is dark in the woods. Man needs light. Sunshine is normally limited on the forest floor where we would live.

The sunlight is a very important aspect of all of this for my family. All of us work a regular grind over night. I personally do 12 hours. So sunlight is very important to me and I get it as often as I can. As for my wife she struggles with S.A.D. ( seasonal affective disorder) which is basically a fancy way of saying that she gets depression from lack of sunlight. So in the interest of preserving all of our mental health we will be thinning the woods behind our house.

Now no one freak out on me. I don't plan to cut it all down just the part that seperates our house from the pasture. I plan to leave all of the larger trees and selecting the nicer new growth to leave. All the rest will be thinned. But the remaining woods that aren't behind the house will be kept to run hogs and goats through rotationally.

As a side note.  In regards to permaculture and ya know what everything else. I'm talking the whole labeling thing. Regenerative, sustainable,organic, forest raised, pasture raised, free range, cage free, horticulture, permaculture whatever. They are all just words, and I am past the word smiting game. There is good farming and bad farming, good and bad stewardship. Just felt like throwing that out there. Yall have a very blessed day!!!

Good Sunday morning to everyone. We will be spending the day building fence in trade for a little piece of land for an old neighbor of ours. It's not much, but it is ours. Samwise the guinea pig

When I get up in the morning, I try to always remember to thank the Lord for letting me wake up and thank Him for the day and everything in it. Tomorrow is not promised, so everyday we wake up this side of the dirt is a gift. And I ask Him to give me what to pray for and to pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. I was going to suggest reading those couple of verses, but you should go ahead and read the whole chapter. I try to read from the bible every day, even if it's just for a little while. And not just read, but study and pray that I will really take it into my heart. It's amazing how as you spend more time in the Word how much He will reveal to you. The world has changed greatly in the just the past year. Now, more than ever, believers need to cling to the Father and ask His help to bring the lost into the fold and to help raise each other up. Pray about everything and anything. He wants us to come to Him like little children. There is nothing you can say that He doesn't want to hear. May the peace that comes from the Lord be unto all of you today. God bless
