▪️ The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) has launched SHRESHTA (Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High School in Targeted Areas) scheme.

▪️ The goal of this scheme is to provide quality education and opportunity to SC category students.

▪️ Its basic motive is to uplift the socioeconomic status of the SC peoples by providing high quality education to their children in the best private residential schools in the country. Admission will be provided in 9th and 11th class of CBSE affiliated private schools.

▪️ Eligibility :
- SC students currently (AY 2021-22) studying in class 8th & 10th.
- Annual income of the family should be upto Rs. 2.5 lakh.
- Selection will be done through the National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA (NETS), which will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).

Samajho Tips:
▪️ These kinds of questions are classical questions in Prelims. Here we can follow two way approach as follows :
▪️ Direct Interpretation: In this approach we directly interpret given keywords as per language rules. In the above question, the keyword is SHRESHTA. Now the direct Hindi meaning of this keyword is elderly people, as in Hindi we say that our father and mother or elderly persons are shreshta one. If we follow this approach our answer can be either A or B.
▪️ Indirect Interpretation: In this approach we indirectly interpret given keywords as per intelligent mix of our knowledge and language rules. Now the meaning of SHRESHTA can be taken as to become great. If we follow this approach our answer can be either C or D.
-We are left with two pairs of possible answers. Here comes the role of practice and study. A properly studied and sufficiently practised student will understand that option D is vague. So eliminate it.
-Now in the remaining 3 statements, by practice and study, you will learn that if majority options are based on Direct approach, then answer comes out to be one with Indirect approach. (and vice versa)
▪️ These are not tricks or random guess work. It is based on proper analysis of UPSC Prelims PYQs, proper study and sufficient practice. The increasing randomness of prelims makes it necessary to develop such skills.

▪️RBI is taking a hard look at the neobank business model which is entirely based on fintechs. New developments in the financial sector are important for prelims.

▪️Statement 1 is correct. A neobank is a kind of digital bank without any branches. Rather than being physically present at a specific location, neobanking is entirely online.

▪️Statement 2 is incorrect. In India, neobanks don't have a bank licence of their own. They have to tie up with a licensed bank for their operations. RazorpayX, Niyo, Jupitor, etc are the examples of some Neobanks in India.

▪️Statement 3 is correct. RBI mandates physical presence of banks. Thus RBI doesn't allow banks to be 100% digital yet. RBI also spoke about the need for digital banking service providers to have some physical presence as well.

Insolation:
▪️Insolation is the amount of solar radiation that is received by a planet. The energy received by the earth’s surface in the form of short waves is termed as Incoming Solar Radiation or Insolation. Hence statement 1 is not correct.
▪️The insolation is not constant over the surface of the Earth — it is concentrated near the equator because of the curvature of the Earth.

Terrestrial Radiation:
▪️The solar radiation received by the earth is in short wave forms and it heats up its surface. The earth acts as a radiating body and radiates energy in the form of long waves to the atmosphere. This process is called terrestrial radiation and these long wave radiations heat up the atmosphere from below.
▪️The atmosphere in turn radiates and transmits heat to space. This maintains the constant temperature at the earth’s surface, as the amount of heat received from the sun is transmitted to space. Hence statement 2 is not correct.
