Homeless Outreach in Leeds
Activists returned to Leeds city centre to distribute food parcels and clothing to the most in need.
Most times we've been out we've always had some spare at the end but numbers on the street appear to be higher than ever and we ran out well before we could help everyone.
We listened to their stories, the runs of bad luck and bad choices and it's no surprise that they were deeply resentful of the government's hotel takeovers, many brought it up without prompt. A stable address is essential for work, training, even universal credit, and it's denied to these people in favour of bogus asylum seekers and economic migrants.
The council won't even look your way until you've been homeless for at least 6 months, by that time... well, many things may have taken hold of you.
We pride ourselves on the community work we do at Patriotic Alternative and we'd love for you to join us at the next event.

I’ve been reading my children a few pages of the story of the Secret Garden every night before bed.
I’m not prone to emotion but I got a lump in my throat reading the passage where Colin Craven is given hope once he sees the garden and realizes that he isn’t going to die.
In defiance of all the doom he was told his entire life, he stands because he wants to stand as the sunsets. He wants to be in his feet. He knows that he will become strong and live a long, healthy life.
This is for those of you younger than I am. I want to be a Dickon Sombery character who brings hope to the Colin Cravens of our time.
You’ve been treated terribly. They have raised you to be frail and weak. They have stolen your future and dreams for anything better.
But you are all seeing the truth and if you can catch some hope in your heart, we can turn these ragged, rundown, ruins once again into a beautiful garden. A place of life and hope.
You are strong; much stronger than you know. Stand in defiance of a system that hates you. Stand for all that is true, beautiful and just. Do not let them win. Murder your depression for it is a useless and spiteful beast.
It will be on all of us to clear brambles, to pull roots from the ground, to dig wellsprings.
It is our calling. I’m proud to do it with all who are willing to put in the work.
First we must stand, then walk, then we can begin the work.
