The certificate is issued exclusively by Microsoft CA. This is not GlobalSign, SSL.com, DigiCert or Sectigo — the certification authority is Microsoft only.
In March 2024, Microsoft changed the way SmartScreen interacts with EV Code Signing certificates. Although EV remains the highest-trust certificate type, it no longer guarantees automatic removal of SmartScreen warnings. At the moment, the certificates continue to function properly, however by purchasing them you accept the risk that SmartScreen may not be removed automatically.
By purchasing a certificate, you assume the risk of potential revocation at the sole discretion of the Certification Authority (CA).
The certificate cannot be verified prior to purchase. Certificates are sold strictly to a single owner.

Microsoft uses an intermediate certificate chain that is technically renewed every 3 days. For this reason, the certificate properties display a validity period of 3 days.
