The Crab Mentality

One of the most destructive human behaviors.

[Have you ever heard of this one?]

» If you place a crab in a bucket, it'll claw its way up and escape.
» But if you place two crabs in a bucket, something strange happens.
» When one crab claws its way up, the other pulls it back down.
» It doesn't just happen once. It happens every time. Neither crab escapes. Both stay trapped forever.
» This isn't rally about crabs. It's about us.
» If I can't have it, neither should you.
» When someone grows, we feel threatened. Not out of hate, but out of fear.
» Fear of being left behind. Fear of facing our own limits. So we pull. We discourage. We doubt.
» But here's the tragic part: Pulling someone down doesn't lift you up. It just keeps both of you stuck in the same bucket.
» Two people could've climbed out together. Two people could've risen higher. But jealousy builds a ceiling that traps everyone.
» Real strength isn't dragging others down. Real strength is understanding: When you lift someone up, you rise too.
» Support creates momentum. Encouragement multiplies. Climbing together is easier than climbing alone.

Break the Crab Mentality. When you see someone growing, don't pull. Push, Cheer, Lift. Because their exit can become your exit too.

Habit 1⃣: Be Proactive

Being proactive means taking full ownership of your actions, decisions, and growth instead of blaming circumstances, luck, the market, or other people. Proactive people focus on what they can control, not what they can’t.

⌨️Developer Insight:

Proactive programmers don’t wait for motivation, viral videos, or “perfect roadmaps.” They understand that discomfort is part of growth. Data Structures, Algorithms, and core fundamentals are unavoidable, so they stop negotiating with reality and start anyway even when it feels hard or unclear.

Real Example:

A reactive developer says:
“The market is bad.”

A proactive developer asks:
“What skill gap do I need to close to be competitive in this market?”
One mindset creates excuses. The other creates progress.

Action Step:

Identify one thing you’ve been postponing (DSA practice, a personal project, system design, reading documentation). Start today, even if it’s only 30 focused minutes. Consistency beats intensity.

Reflection Question:

What is one excuse you’ve been using lately and what proactive action can replace it today?

Me lowkey confused between totals and odit.

They both are too good that i can't decide. I cannot resort to either one. I have no option but to use both.

AI can answer questions in seconds,
but learning still requires curiosity and effort.

📌Use AI as a guide, not a shortcut.
📌Used wisely, AI can support learning, creativity, and problem-solving.
📌Used blindly, it can limit critical thinking.
Growth happens when thinking comes first.

🤖 Learn with AI. Don’t let AI think for you.
🤖 AI is a tool. Responsibility is human.
