How to Praise Others

Nufay’ ibn al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:

A man praised another man in the presence of the Prophet (ﷺ), so the Prophet said: "Woe to you! You have cut the neck of your companion, you have cut the neck of your companion," (he said this) repeatedly.

Then he said: "If one of you must praise his brother, then let him say:

أَحْسِبُ فُلَانًا، وَاللَّهُ حَسِيبُهُ، وَلَا أُزَكِّي عَلَى اللَّهِ أَحَدًا، أَحْسِبُهُ كَذَا وَكَذَا

Aḥsibu fulānan, wa-llāhu ḥasībuh, wa-lā uzakkī ʿalā llāhi aḥadan, aḥsibu-hu kadhā wa-kadhā

'I consider so-and-so to be such, and Allah is his true judge, and I do not ascribe purity to anyone before Allah. I consider him to be such-and-such, (if he knows that to be true of him).'

The Link Between Disobedience of Parents to Arrogance and Misery

Some of the Salaf said:

"You will not find someone who is disobedient to his parents except that you will find him to be arrogant and miserable."

Then (they) read:

'And dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me arrogant, unblessed.' (Surah Maryam, Ayah 32)

The Promise of a Good Life for Those Who Work Righteous Deeds

"Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while being a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do." (Surah An-Nahl, 16:97).

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

The Path of Guidance: Understanding the Ruling of Celebrating the Mawlid (the Birthday of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad [peace be upon him])

(1/2):

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy.

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

"I have left you upon a clear path. It’s night is like its day. No one deviates from it except that he is destroyed." [1]

This is a tremendous saying by our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and it shows the clarity and completeness of the guidance he left behind for his Ummah.

It is a simple message, and yet an instruction to his followers. A clear path to follow, no ambiguity, straight and leading to Allah, and also a warning for whoever deviates from it, that their affair will be at loss.

Celebrating the Prophet's birthday was not from the practices of the Prophet himself, nor from the guidance of his Companions, nor the four Imams, nor the first three generations of righteous Muslims (the Salaf), whom the Prophet (peace be upon him) attested to their righteousness in the authentic hadeeth [2].

The celebration of the Mawlid was first introduced in the 4th century of Islam by the Fatimid Shia dynasty in Egypt. This practice was not part of the early Islamic tradition and was established by the Fatimids as a way to promote their religious and political agenda. Over time, the Mawlid spread to various parts of the Muslim world and took on different forms, but its origins are rooted in the Fatimid era, reflecting the influence of Shia practices in shaping this observance.

However, there are still some in the Ummah today who argue in favour of this practice. We say to those Muslims: the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned against innovations in religious matters, saying, "Every innovation is a misguidance, and every misguidance leads to the Fire." [3]

Indeed, drawing closer to Allah is only possible through obeying Allah and his Messenger (peace be upon him). Allah commands us in the Qur'an: "Say (O Muhammad to mankind): 'If you (really) love Allah, then follow me (i.e., accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur'an and the Sunnah), Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.'" [4]

The People of Knowledge from Ahlus-Sunnah (the People of Sunnah) called this verse (the ayah) of test, because it makes it clear that if someone truly loves Allah, then what will prove their claim is if they follow the way of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The Path of Guidance: Understanding the Ruling of Celebrating the Mawlid (the Birthday of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad [peace be upon him])

(2/2):

This means not adding to the religion or taking away from it, and this, in reality, is how one truly honours the religion and the Prophet (peace be upon him)—by being a true follower and not opposing his religious guidance!

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned against innovations, saying, "Whoever introduces into this affair of ours that which is not from it will have it rejected." [5] This is a strong warning, showing that there is no reward for introducing or following innovations.

What further demonstrates the serious consequences of innovating into the deen of Allah is that the Prophet (peace be upon him) foretold of a people who would be turned away from his lake (Al-Hawd) on the Day of Judgment. When he would say, "My followers, my followers!" it will be said to him, "You do not know what they innovated after you." [6]

It is also not established that the exact date of the Prophet's (peace be upon him) birth is known. Scholars differ on this, with the day (Monday) established in an authentic report, but no consensus on the date or month. The Prophet (peace be upon him) fasted on Mondays, saying, "That is the day I was born," [7] but this was never treated as a celebration. Instead, he taught us that there are only two Eids in Islam: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha [8]. Taking his birthday as an Eid goes against his teachings and the clear guidance he left for us (peace be upon him).

In conclusion, it is highly evident, based upon many proofs, that introducing or following new religious practices in Islam is considered an innovation that deviates from the pure teachings of Islam.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) warned his Ummah: "Every innovation is a misguidance, and every misguidance leads to the Fire." Therefore, Muslims should strive to follow the clear path laid out by the Prophet and avoid practices that were never part of his guidance.

And Allah knows best.

‘If you see that Allaah gives the slave what he loves from the Dunyaa even though he is disobedient, then that is gradual punishment from Allaah.’

Then the Prophet recited: << So, when they forgot (the warning) with which they had been reminded, We opened to them the gates of every (pleasant) thing, until in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given, all of a sudden, We took them to punishment, and lo! They were plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrows. >> [An’aam: 44]

The 5 Daily Prayers are Allah’s Covenant in Return for Jannah

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Jibreel (Gabriel) came to me from Allah, Blessed and Exalted, and said:

"O Muhammad! Indeed, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says: I have made five prayers obligatory upon your Ummah. Whoever performs them with proper wudu (ablution), at their appointed times, and fulfills their bowing and prostration, I have a covenant with them that I will admit them into Paradise. But whoever meets Me having neglected any part of them, then they have no covenant with Me. If I will, I will punish them, and if I will, I will have mercy on them."

On the authority of Abu Umamah Al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) he said:

“O son of Adam, if you give from your excess wealth, it is better for you, and if you withhold it, it is worse for you. You will not be blamed for keeping what is enough for your needs. Start with those you are responsible for, and the upper hand (the one that gives) is better than the lower hand (the one that takes).”

قـصة يوسف

*Benefits Derived from the Story of Yusuf*

Chapter 10
The Stance of the Chosen Ones of Allaah when Afflictions Occur

The saying of Allaah Ta'ala about Yaqoob when his sons first carried out what they did to their brother Yusuf:

بَلْ سَوَّلَتْ لَكُمْ أَنْفُسُكُمْ أَمْرًا فَصَبْرٌ جَمِيلٌ وَاللَّهُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَى مَا تَصِفُونَ

<< Nay, but your own selves have made up a story. So (for me) patience is most fitting. And it is Allaah (Alone) Whose help can be sought against that which you assert. >>

Likewise, what Yaqoob said when the trial became extremely difficult for him when his other son was detained:
بَلْ سَوَّلَتْ لَكُمْ أَنْفُسُكُمْ أَمْرًا فَصَبْرٌ جَمِيلٌ عَسَى اللَّهُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَنِي بِهِمْ جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْعَلِيمُ الْحَكِيمُ

<< ‘Nay, but your own selves have enticed you into something. So patience is most fitting (for me). May be Allaah will bring them (back) all to me. Truly He! only He is All-Knowing, All-Wise.’>>

In what happened to Yaqoob is evidence that if catastrophes and calamities befall those chosen ones of Allaah, initially they confront them with patience and with seeking aid from Allaah, the Master.

For many excellent multiple benefits
