Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān on the Four Qualities of Prophet Ibrahim

Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān (may Allah preserve him) said:

"Allah described Ibrahim (Abraham) with four qualities:

1. The first quality: He was an 'ummah,' meaning a leader and exemplar in goodness.

2. The second quality: He was devoutly obedient to Allah, steadfast in worship, and sincere in his actions for Allah.

3. The third quality: He was hanif, meaning he was devoted to Allah and turned away from everything else.

4. The fourth quality: He was not among the polytheists, meaning he was free from them and their religion."

Hadeeth no. 7 - Eemaan & Jihad in the Path of Allaah

From Amr bin Malik al-Janabi that he heard Fadalat bin Ubayd say, I heard the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ- sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- saying:
I am a guarantor for the one who believed in me and migrated with a house on the outskirts of Paradise, and a house in the centre of Paradise.

I am a guarantor for the one who believed in me, and accepted Islaam and did Jihad in the path of Allaah with a house on the outskirts of Paradise and a house in the centre of Paradise, and a house in the highest rooms of Paradise.

So whoever did these deeds and was continuous in obedience and good deeds and kept away from evil and sinning, then no matter where he dies those houses in Paradise are for him.’

A Du’a to Seek Forgiveness in Salah (After Tashahud and Before Salam).

On the authority of Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him):

He said to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): "Teach me a supplication that I can say in my prayer." He (the Prophet ﷺ) said: "Say:

'Allāhumma innī ẓalamtu nafsī ẓulman kathīran, wa lā yaghfiru al-dhunūba illā Anta, fa-ghfir lī maghfiratan min ‘indika, wa arḥamnī, innaka Anta al-Ghafūru al-Raḥīm.'

'O Allah, I have wronged myself greatly, and none forgives sins except You. So forgive me with a forgiveness from You, and have mercy on me. Indeed, You are the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.'"

The Best Supplication for Seeking Forgiveness (Sayyid al-Istighfar)

On the authority of Shaddad ibn Aws (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"The best supplication for seeking forgiveness (Sayyid al-Istighfar) is to say:

'Allāhumma anta rabbī, lā ilāha illā anta, khalaqtanī wa-anā ʿabduka, wa-anā ʿalā ʿahdika wa-waʿdika māstaṭaʿtu, aʿūdhu bika min sharri mā ṣanaʿtu, abū'u laka biniʿmatika ʿalayya wa-abū'u bithanbī', faghfir lī, fa-innahu lā yaghfirudh-dhunūba illā anta.'

'O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no deity except You. You created me, and I am Your servant. I am committed to Your covenant and promise as much as I can. I seek refuge with You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for none can forgive sins except You.'"

He (the Prophet) added: "Whoever says this during the day with firm belief in it, and dies on the same day before evening, he will be among the people of Paradise. And whoever says it during the night with firm belief in it, and dies before the morning, he will be among the people of Paradise."

How to Praise Others

Nufay’ ibn al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:

A man praised another man in the presence of the Prophet (ﷺ), so the Prophet said: "Woe to you! You have cut the neck of your companion, you have cut the neck of your companion," (he said this) repeatedly.

Then he said: "If one of you must praise his brother, then let him say:

Aḥsibu fulānan, wa-llāhu ḥasībuh, wa-lā uzakkī ʿalā llāhi aḥadan, aḥsibu-hu kadhā wa-kadhā

'I consider so-and-so to be such, and Allah is his true judge, and I do not ascribe purity to anyone before Allah. I consider him to be such-and-such, (if he knows that to be true of him).'
