The Day of Arafah: The Best Day for Supplication (Dua)
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh (may the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you).
The Day of Arafah, the 9th day of Dhul-Hijjah, is one of the most special days in Islam. It is very important, especially for those on the Hajj pilgrimage, as they spend the day in prayer at the plain of Arafah. Even for those not on Hajj, it is a day full of blessings and opportunities to make supplications (duas).
The Significance of the Day of Arafah
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
"There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of Arafah. He comes close and expresses His pride to the angels, saying, 'What do these people want?'"
(Sahih Muslim 1348)
He also said:
"The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of Arafah, and the best that I and the prophets before me said is:
'لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ'
(La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadeer.)
There is no god which has the right to be worshipped but Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things powerful."
(Muwatta Malik, Book 15, Hadith 9)
Therefore, Muslims should increase in this supplication on the Day of Arafah.
Fasting on the Day of Arafah
For those not on Hajj, it is very good to fast on the Day of Arafah. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
"Fasting the day of Arafah removes the sins of two years: the past one and the coming one."
(Sahih Muslim 1162)
The Day of Arafah is an important day for supplication, seeking nearness to Allah, and seeking His forgiveness. Whether one is at Arafah or not, Muslims around the world can take advantage of this blessed day by making sincere duas, engaging in the remembrance of Allah, and fasting.
May Allah accept our prayers and supplications on this blessed day and grant us His mercy and forgiveness. Aameen. Wasalaam.

Seize the Final Moments of Maximising Worship in the Last Hour of Dhul Hijjah.
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, his companions, and those who follow him. As for what follows:
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said,
"Indeed, deeds are judged by their endings" (narrated by Bukhari).
My dear brothers and sisters in faith, we are now in the final hour of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, which are blessed days where rewards are multiplied, and blessings are abundant.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days," referring to the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah (narrated by Bukhari).
Allah says, "By the dawn, and by the ten nights" (Al-Fajr: 1-2).
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) explained that these ten nights refer to the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. Furthermore the scholars have also explained that Allah only swears by something great, so this no doubt shows us the significance of these days.
Therefore we should seize these blessed moments by increasing our acts of worship, such as seeking forgiveness, dhikr, remembrance of Allah, recitation of the Quran, supplication, and charity. Let us use these last hours to draw closer to Allah, repent, and seek forgiveness, for these might be the good deeds that Allah accepts from us and raises our ranks.
We ask Allah to accept our good deeds and yours, and to make us among those who are accepted and forgiven. Let us strive in this remaining hour, for they might be the blessed conclusion of these days for us.
Wa sallallahu wa sallama wa baraka 'ala nabiyyina Muhammad wa 'ala alihi wa sahbihi ajma'in.

🌟 The Days of Tashreeq are Days for Eating, Drinking, and Remembering Allah 🌟
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
The Days of Tashreeq are the three days following Eid al-Adha (the 11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhul-Hijjah).
These are special days in Islam which are dedicated to the remembrance of Allah, as well as enjoying the blessings of food and drink. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The days of Tashreeq are days of eating, drinking, and remembering Allah." (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 1141)
Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) said in His Book:
وَاذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ فِي أَيَّامٍ مَعْدُودَاتٍ
"And remember Allah during the appointed days." [Surah Al-Baqarah, 203]
Imam al-Qurtubi (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned in his Tafsir (explantion) of this verse:
"The appointed days refer to the days of Tashreeq, which are the three days after the Day of Sacrifice (the day of Eid). The scholars are in agreement about this."
Fasting During the Days of Tashreeq:
It is not allowed to fast during the days of Tashreeq expect for an obligatory fast. It was narrated by Ibn Umar and Aisha (may Allah be pleased with them): "It was not permitted to fast during the days of Tashreeq except for those (pilgrims on Hajj) who could not find a sacrificial animal." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of Fasting (Kitab as-Siyam), Hadith 1997)
So the exception is for the pilgrim on Hajj who cannot find a sacrificial animal. Some scholars also held that the missed days of Ramadan can also be fasted, using this narration as an analogy. It was also mentioned other obligatory fasts, such as expiations are included too.
However in order to avoid an area of scholarly differing, it would be better to partake in and enjoy the blessings of food and drink with one’s family and the Muslims, since these days are for eating and drinking and are an extension of eid. It was narrated from Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"Indeed, the Day of Arafah, the Day of Sacrifice, and the Days of Tashreeq are our Eid (festivals), we the people of Islam, and they are days of eating and drinking."
(Sunan an-Nasa'i, Hadith 3004, Classified as Hasan)
Gratitude and a Great Reward:
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) also taught that the one who eats and is grateful has a similar reward to the one who fasts and is patient.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The one who eats and is grateful is like the status of the one who fasts and is patient." (Jami` at-Tirmidhi, Hadith 2486, Classified as Hasan Gharīb).
Remembrance of Allah:
It is highly recommended to recite Takbeer ("Allahu Akbar") after every obligatory prayer from Fajr on the 9th day of Dhul-Hijjah (the day of Arafah) until Asr on the 13th day of Dhul-Hijjah (the last day of Tashreeq).
This practice is among the legislated acts during these days and reminds us of the greatness of Allah and His Oneness. The takbeer is said both restrictedly (after the obligatory prayer) and unrestrictedly (at all other times).
Shaykh Abdul Azeez Ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
"Takbeer is prescribed both unrestrictedly and restrictedly during these days. The companions practiced both forms, which is evident in the Quranic verse: "And remember Allah during the appointed days" [Al-Baqarah: 203].
And the saying of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ): "The days of Tashreeq are days of eating, drinking, and remembering Allah."
(Majmu' Fatawa wa Maqalat al-Sheikh Ibn Baz 26/89)
Mode of Takbeer:
The mode of the takbeer can be recited with the first takbeer said twice or three times, and it is verified from Ibn Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and others from the Salaf (early generations of Islam).
Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, la ilaha illa-Allah, wa Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, wa lillahil-hamd.
الله أكبر الله أكبر الله أكبر لا إله إلا الله، والله أكبر الله أكبر ولله الحمد

A Reminder Benefits the Believers.
*The New Islamic Year (1446) the Day of ‘Aashoora 1446 and the Blessed Legislated Fast of Muharram*
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful,
Asalaamu-‘alaikum-wa-rahmut-ullahi-wa-barakatuhu.
The new Islamic year (1446 AH) will start on Saturday evening, July 6th, 2024, as per the official announcement from Saudi Arabia:

And since the moon was not sighted, Dhul Hijjah will be 30 days, and Muharram will begin after that.
*Fasting the Month of Muharram*
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said,
"The best fasting after Ramadan is in the month of Allah, Al-Muharram." [Tirmidhi, 740]
So, it is highly recommended to observe voluntary fasts during this month.
*Fasting the Day of ‘Aashoorah*
One of the most significant fasts in this month is the day of ‘Aashoorah.
This is the day when Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) gave victory to Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) and the Children of Israel over Pharaoh and his army.
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:
“The Prophet (ﷺ) came to Al- Madinah, and he found the Jews observing a fast. He said: ‘What is this?’ They said: ‘This is the day when Allah saved Musa and drowned Pharaoh, so Musa fasted this day in gratitude.’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘We have more right to Musa than you do.’ So he fasted (that day) and enjoined (others) to fast it also.’”
[Sunan Ibn Majah, 1734]
Therefore this day, the Day of Aashoorah (10th of Muharram 1446) will be on Tuesday, July 16th, 2024.
It is highly recommended to fast on this day. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "For fasting the day of Ashura, I hope that Allah will accept it as expiation for the year that went before." [Muslim]
Therefore fasting on this day erases the sins of the past year.
Scholars also suggest fasting the day before or after Aashoorah to be different from the Jews, and some say to fast all three days.
While fasting is encouraged throughout Muharram, this year you can fast 8 consecutive days in Muharram, with the most important day being Aashoorah.
Here is a brief breakdown:
- *Monday, 15th July:* 9th Muharram (Day before ‘Aashoorah)
- *Tuesday, 16th July:* 10th Muharram (Day of ‘Aashoorah)
- *Wednesday, 17th July:* 11th Muharram (Day after ‘Aashoorah)
- *Thursday, 18th July:* 12th Muharram (Recommended Sunnah Fasting on Thursdays)
- *Friday, 19th July:* 13th Muharram (White day)
- *Saturday, 20th July:* 14th Muharram (White day)
- *Sunday, 21st July:* 15th Muharram (White day)
- *Monday, 22nd July:* 16th Muharram (Recommended Sunnah Fasting on Mondays)
*Fasting on Mondays and Thursdays (and in Muharram)*
Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) was keen to fast on Mondays and Thursdays.
[at-Tirmidhi, 745, an-Nasai, 2361; Ibn Majah, 1739]
*Fasting the White Days (and in Muharram)*
Jareer ibn ‘Abd-Allah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“Fasting three days of each month is fasting for a lifetime, and ayyam al-beed (the white days) are the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.” [an-Nasai, 2420]
So in addition to the days before and after Aashoorah, the white days (13th, 14th, and 15th of Muharram) and the regular sunnah fasts of Monday and Thursday will also come straight after.
More notably, one should strive to fast on the day of Aashoorah, the 10th Muharram/Tuesday 16th July, because that is a day for which the reward is forgiveness for the previous year’s sins, even though fasting throughout this whole month is virtuous.

🌻*Tawheed is the Entirety of the Deen*💫
🌴التوحيد هو جماع الدين🌴

Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah Rahimahullaah said:
Allaah Ta'ala said:
(إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَغْفِرُ أَنْ يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ)
《Verily, Allaah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases 》 [Nisa:48]
'Tawheed is the entirety of the Deen, which is its foundation, its branches, its core. It is all goodness.
As for al-Istighfaar (seeking forgiveness), it eliminates all evil.
Therefore, by these two matters, all goodness is acquired, and all evil is eliminated.
Every evil which afflicts the believer is none other than due to his sins.
al-Istighfaar (seeking forgiveness) erases sins and eliminates punishment. Like Allaah Ta'ala said:
وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ مُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَهُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ
《nor will He punish them while they seek Allaah's Forgiveness》
[Anfal:33]

قال شيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية
رحمه الله :
قال تعالى: (إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَغْفِرُ أَنْ يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ)(سورة النساء: 48).
فالتوحيد هو جماع الدين الذي هو أصلُه وفرعُه ولُبُّه، وهو الخير كلُّه، والاستغفارُ يُزيلُ الشرَّ كلَّه، فيحصلُ من هذين جميعُ الخَيْر وزوالُ جميع الشرّ. وكلُّ ما يُصيبُ المؤمنَ من الشرِّ فإنما هو بذنوبه.
والاستغفار يَمحُو الذنوبَ فيُزيلُ العذابَ، كما قال تعالى: (وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ مُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَهُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ (سورة الأنفال: 33))

شیخ الاسلام ابن تیمیہ رحمہ اللہ فرماتے ہیں:
" اللہ تعالٰی نے فرمایا: (إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَغْفِرُ أَنْ يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ)(سورة النساء: 48)
﴿یقیناً اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے ساتھ شریک کئے جانے کو نہیں بخشتا اور اس کے سوا جسے چاہے بخش دیتا ہے﴾
پس توحید ہی پورا کا پورا دین ہے جو اسکی بنیاد ہونے کے ساتھ ساتھ اسکی شاخ اور مغز و جوہر بھی ہے، اور یہ ہی سارا کا سارا خیر ہے۔ اور استغفار (مغفرت طلب کرنا) سارے شر کو ختم کر دیتا ہے۔ تو اسطرح ان دو ﴿عملوں; توحید اور استغفار﴾ سے سارا خیر حاصل ہوتا ہے اور سارا شر ختم ہوتا ہے۔ اور ایمان والے کو جو بھی شر لاحق ہو تو وہ اسکے گناہوں کی وجہ سے ہے۔ اور استغفار گناہوں کو مٹا کر عذاب کو دور کرتا ہے، جیسے کہ اللہ تعالٰی نے فرمایا: (وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ مُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَهُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ (سورة الأنفال: 33)) ﴿ اور اللہ ان کو عذاب نہ دے گا اس حالت میں کہ وه استغفار بھی کرتے ہوں﴾
