From Abu Hurairah RadhiAllaahu anhu from the Prophet ﷺ who said:
أَسْرِعُوا بِالْجِنَازَةِ، فَإِنْ تَكُ صَالِحَةً فَخَيْرٌ تُقَدِّمُونَهَا، وَإِنْ يَكُ سِوَى ذَلِكَ فَشَرٌّ تَضَعُونَهُ عَنْ رِقَابِكُمْ

'Hasten with the burial of the deceased.  Since if the person was righteous, then you are taking him to a better place.

If he was not righteous, then that is evil which you are relieving your shoulders from carrying him.'

Shaykh Muhammad bin Salih al-Uthaymeen Rahimahullaah said:

'As for what some people do nowadays, when a person dies, they say wait until his family attend from every valley path!

So much so that some of them perhaps may travel from Europe or America.
They say,  wait until they arrive after a day or two.

This is a crime against the deceased and disobedience to the command of the Messenger ﷺ .

*أَسْرِعُوا بِالْجِنَازَةِ*
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ :

" أَسْرِعُوا بِالْجِنَازَةِ، فَإِنْ تَكُ صَالِحَةً فَخَيْرٌ تُقَدِّمُونَهَا، وَإِنْ يَكُ سِوَى ذَلِكَ فَشَرٌّ تَضَعُونَهُ عَنْ رِقَابِكُمْ ".

•  أخرجه البخاري ومسلم

‏قال النبي ﷺ:
أسرعوا بالجنازة.

قال ابن عثيمين:

وما يفعله بعض الناس اليوم إذا مات الميت قالوا : انتظروا حتى يقدم أهله من كل فج!  حتى يأتوا بعضهم ربما يكون في أوروبا أو في أمريكا، ويقول : انتظروا حتى يحضر بعد يوم أو يومين فهذا جناية على الميت وعصيان لأمر الرسولﷺ.

أبو هريرة رضي الله عنه روایت کرتے ہیں کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا:
"جنازہ لے کر جلدی چلا کرو کیونکہ اگر وہ (میت) نیک ہے تو تم اس کو بھلائی کی طرف لے جا رہے ہو، اور اگر وہ ایسا (یعنی نیک) نہیں ہے تو ایک ایسا شر ہے جسے تم اپنی گردنوں سے اتارتے ہو۔"
اس حدیث  کو بخاری اور مسلم نے روایت کیا

شیخ ابن عثيمين رحمہ اللہ فرماتے ہیں:
"اور آجکل جب کوئی مرتا ہے تو کچھ لوگ ایسا کرتے اور کہتے ہیں کہ: تب تک (جنازے اور تدفین ) سے رکو جب تک نہ ہر دور دراز راستے (علاقے) سے اسکے اہل خانہ نہ آئیں، یہاں تک کہ ان میں سے کچھ آتے ہیں جبکہ بسا اوقات وہ یورپ وأمريكا میں ہوتے ہیں، اور وہ کہتے ہیں کہ جب تک وہ ایک یا دو دن میں آئے تب تک انتظار کرو، لیکن یہ سب میت کے تعلق سے ایک جرم، اور رسول اللہ ﷺ کے حکم کی نافرمانی ہے"

‎Wouldn't any one of you like to have, or continue to have, something that reminds of him [in the presence of Allāh]?"

🟧Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah Rahimahullaah said:
(( العبادات مبناها على الشرع والاتباع، لا على الهوى والابتداع،
'Worship is built upon the Sharia and Ittiba (following the Messenger), and not upon desires and Ibtida (innovations).
🔰 فإن الإسلام مبني على أصلين :
Islaam is built upon two principles:
📋 #أحدهما : أن نعبد الله وحده لا شريك له.
# One of which is that we worship Allaah alone who has no partners.
📋 #والثاني : أن نعبده بما شرعه على لسان رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم، لا نعبده بالأهواء والبدع،
# the second is that we worship Allaah with what was legislated on the tongue of His Messenger  sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam. We do not worship Him with desires and Bida.
⬜كما قال تعالى :
Like Allah Ta'ala said:
{ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاكَ عَلَىٰ شَرِيعَةٍ مِّنَ الْأَمْرِ فَاتَّبِعْهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ، إِنَّهُمْ لَن يُغْنُوا عَنكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا} [الجاثية : 18، 19].
《Then We have put you (O Muhammad) on a plain way of (Our) commandment. So follow that (Islamic Monotheism and its laws), and do not follow the desires of those who know not. Verily, they can avail you nothing against Allah (if He wants to punish you).》[al-Jatheeyah: 18-19]

⬜وقال تعالى :{أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَاءُ شَرَعُوا لَهُم مِّنَ الدِّينِ مَا لَمْ يَأْذَن بِهِ اللَّهُ} الشورى
Or have they partners with Allah (false gods), who have instituted for them a religion which Allah has not allowed.》

💢فليس لأحد أن يعبد الله إلا بما شرعه رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم من واجب ومستحب
⛔ لا نعبده بالأمور المبتدعة.
It is not allowed for anyone to worship Allaah except with what His Messenger  sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam legislated from the obligatory duties and the recommended ones,  we do not worship Him with innovated matters.
وليس لأحد أن يعبد إلا الله وحده
It is not permissible for anyone to worship except Allaah alone.
◽ فلا يصلي إلا لله
Do not pray except to Allaah.
◽ ولا يصوم إلا لله
Do not fast except for Allaah.
◽ولا يحج إلا بيت الله
Do not make pilgrimage except to the House of Allaah.
◽ ولا يتوكل إلا على الله
Do not totally rely except upon Allaah.
◽ولا يخاف إلا الله
Do not fear except Allaah.
◽ ولا ينذر إلا لله
Do not make a vow except for Allaah.
◽ولا يحلف إلا بالله
Do not make an oath except by Allaah.'

❍ شيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية رحمہ اللہ فرماتے ہیں:

(( عبادات کی بنیاد شریعت اور (نبی ﷺ کی) اتباع پر ہے، نا کہ خواہش نفس اور بدعت کرنے پر،

🔰 کیونکہ اسلام دو بنیادوں پر مبنی ہے:
📋 #پہلی: کہ ہم صرف اُس اللہ کی عبادت کریں جسکا کوئی بھی شریک نہیں.
📋 #اور دوسری : کہ اُسکی عبادت ان اعمال کے ذریعے سے کریں جن کو اُس نے اپنے رسول ﷺ کی زبان پر مشروع کیا، ہم اُسکی عبادت خواہشات نفس اور بدعات کے ذریعے سے نہیں کرتے ہیں،

⬜ جیسے کہ اللہ تعالٰی فرماتے ہیں  :"ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاكَ عَلَىٰ شَرِيعَةٍ مِّنَ الْأَمْرِ فَاتَّبِعْهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ، إِنَّهُمْ لَن يُغْنُوا عَنكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا"  ﴿پھر ہم نے آپ کو دین کی (ظاہر) راه پر قائم کردیا، سو آپ اسی پر لگے رہیں اور نادانوں کی خواہشوں کی پیروی میں نہ پڑیں۔ (یاد رکھیں) کہ یہ لوگ ہرگز اللہ کے سامنے آپ کے کچھ کام نہیں آسکتے۔﴾ [الجاثية : 18، 19].
⬜وقال تعالى :"أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَاءُ شَرَعُوا لَهُم مِّنَ الدِّينِ مَا لَمْ يَأْذَن بِهِ اللَّهُ" ﴿کیا ان لوگوں نے ایسے (اللہ کے) شریک (مقرر کر رکھے) ہیں جنہوں نے ایسے احکام دین مقرر کر دیئے ہیں جو اللہ کے فرمائے ہوئے نہیں ہیں﴾ الشورى

💢 اس لیے کسی کے لیے بھی جائز نہیں ہے کہ وہ اللہ کی عبادت کریں،  سوائے ان واجب اور مستحب اعمال کے ذریعے سے جنہیں اللہ کے رسول ﷺ نے مشروع قرار دیا۔

⛔ ہم اسکی عبادت بدعات کے ذریعے سے نہیں کرتے ہیں.

🔳 اور کسی کے لیے واحد اللہ کے سوا کسی کی عبادت کرنا جائز نہیں ہے۔
◽پس وہ صرف اور صرف اللہ ہی کے لئے نماز ادا کریں۔
◽  اور وہ صرف اور صرف اللہ ہی کے لئے روزہ رکھیں۔
◽ اور وہ صرف اور صرف اللہ کے گھر(کعبہ) کا حج کریں۔
◽ اور وہ صرف اور صرف اللہ ہی پر توکل کریں۔
◽اور وہ صرف اور صرف اللہ ہی سے ڈریں۔
◽ اور وہ صرف اور صرف اللہ ہی کے لئے نذر مانیں۔
◽ اور وہ صرف اور صرف اللہ ہی کی قسم کھائیں۔

💎From Ibn Masood -Radhi Allaah anhu- that the Prophet –SallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said:


خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرْنِي ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ يَجِيءُ أَقْوَامٌ تَسْبِقُ شَهَادَةُ أَحَدِهِمْ يَمِينَهُ، وَيَمِينُهُ شَهَادَتَهُ .

'The best people are my generation, then those who came after them, then those who came after them, then there will come people whose testimony precedes them taking his oath and his oath precedes his testimony.' [i.e. they rush to give oath and testify, and belittle them.]

💎Shaykh Muhammad Nasirud-Deen Al-Albaani quoted the Ayah and commented:
{وَيَتَّبِعْ غَيْرَ سَبِيلِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ}
‘<< And follows other than the believers’ path>> the secret is that the foremost believers are those who conveyed to us what they heard directly and conveyed what had recently been revealed to the Messenger -alayhi as-Salam- taking it directly from his lips.

They applied the revelation at the Messenger’s time, so it was practically implemented. They were capable of understanding what Allaah revealed to His Prophet in His Book, and what Allaah conveyed with His Prophet -alayhi as-Salam- with his wording. They were capable of understanding that better than everyone who came after them, how can that not be the case? As the Messenger -alayhi as-Salam- said:
«الشاهد يرى ما لا يرى الغائب»
‘The witness sees that which an absent person does not see.’

Take for example, when Allaah Ta’ala said:
وَالسَّارِقُ وَالسَّارِقَةُ فَاقْطَعُوا أَيْدِيَهُمَا
<< Cut off the (right) hand of the thief, male or female >> [Maidah:38] the word ‘hand’ in the Arabic language also includes the palm, and this word can also mean along with the palm the forearm, and it can also apply and mean along with the forearm the bicep.

Do you see, how can we understand the word ‘hand’ in this Ayah:
<< Cut off the (right) hand >>?
Likewise it has been mentioned in the Ayah of Tayyamum:
فَتَيَمَّمُوا صَعِيدًا طَيِّبًا فَامْسَحُوا بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَأَيْدِيكُمْ
<< perform Tayammum with clean earth and rub therewith your faces and hands (Tayammum) >> [Nisa: 43]

How can we understand the word ‘hand’ here, do we understand it as it is mentioned here or a meaning more general?

If we do not return to the clear explanation which was indicated to in the Ayah then we would differ and be confused:
{وَأَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الذِّكْرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَيْهِمْ}
<< And We have also sent down unto you (O Muhammad) the reminder and the advice (the Qur'aan), that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them >>
[Nahl: 44]

We return back to the clear explanation because the Noble Qur’aan was revealed in the clear Arabic tongue, the word ‘Hand’ has a number of meaning. However, when we return to the Companions we find that they conveyed the Sharia of Allaah, as was implemented by the Messenger of Allaah -SallAllaahu alayhi wa Ahli wa sallam, and they understood this Sharia correctly, and indeed the Prophet -SallAllaahu alayhi wa Ahli wa sallam- praised the Companions, when he said:
«خير الناس قرني»
‘the best of the people are my generation.’
And he said:
«أكرموا أصحابي»
‘Honour my Companions.’

He -SallAllaahu alayhi wa Ahli wa sallam- also said:
«أحسنوا إلى أصحابي، فوالذي نفس محمد بيده! لوأنفق أحدكم مثل جبل أحد ذهباً ما بلغ مد أحدهم ولا نصيفه»
‘Be kind to my Companions, I swear by Whom in His Hand is the soul of Muhammad. If one of you spent the like of mount Uhud in gold, you would not reach the equivalent of a Mudd (a certain weight) of one of the Companions, not even half a Mudd.’[1]

This is because they did Jihad in the path of Allaah, migrated in the path of Allaah, they left their lands in the path of Allaah, they accompanied the Messenger of Allaah -SallAllaahu alayhi wa Ahli wa sallam, they knew the Sharia of Allaah – like we said- from near and far.

Therefore, they are the like of what the Messenger -alayhi as-Salam- mentioned in some Ahadeeth:
«هم القوم لا يشقى جليسهم»
‘They are a people when you sit with them you will not be saddened.’

Therefore, it is upon everyone who wants to be from the Firaqat an-Najiya (the saved sect) that he should not be content with just knowing the Qur’aan and the Sunnah alone, and even if for the sake of argument he is content, and even if he can only reach to understanding the Book and the Sunnah with this impairment [of without the understanding of the Salaf], he will lose out from being from the Firqat an-Najiya, and to be upon what the Companions of the Messenger -alayhi as-Sallat wa Sallam- were upon.


Therefore, it is possible for us to summarise what preceded from what was said in detail and in the explanation, so that we can build upon this summary a further research.

It is necessary for every Muslim after testifying that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah -SallAllaahu Alayhi wa Ahli wa Sallam- and to know the way to understand what the Messenger of Allaah was upon, is the Sunnah and it is ‘the Companions’, or in another expression, ‘the Salaf as-Salih’.


This is because the Prophet -SallAllaahu Alayhi wa Ahli wa Sallam- said in a Hadeeth which is Mutawatir:
«خير الناس قرني ثم الذين يلونهم ثم الذين يلونهم»
‘The best of the people are my generation then those who come after them, then those after them.’
It is necessary for a Muslim to acquaint himself with what the Messenger’s Companions were upon, otherwise he will go very far astray, whereby, they thought that they were acquiring good by their deeds!
