Due to an adjustment made to the (prediction-based) Umm al-Qura calendar, based on a non-sighting at the beginning of Thul-Qa'dah, KSA announced that we will be looking for the crescent moon of Thul-Hijjah 1443 today. So that means: If there is a moon sighting today, then...

If there is a moon sighting today, then tomorrow (Thursday, June 30, 2022) would be Day One of the blessed 10 days of Thul-Hijjah 1443. Otherwise (without a moon sighting), Thursday would be 30th of Thul-Qa'dah & Friday would begin Thul-Hijjah.

Tele-Lecture Notes | "The First 10 Days of Dhul Hijjah" | Shaykh Badr Ibn Muhammad Al-Badr Al-'Anazy (Hafidhahullah) Translated by Mpubs. Source of Notes: Twitter Account of Mpubs (@Mpubs) - 24.09.2014.

[1] This night is the first night of Dhul Hijjah; and on this night some very virtuous and blessed days have entered upon us

[2] These are days Allah swore by and Allah is Great and does not swear by anything except that it is great

[3] Allah says: "By the dawn. And by the ten nights." [Soorah al-Fajr 89:1-2]

[4] Ibn 'Abbaas and others mention that these ten nights refer to the first ten of Dhul Hijjah.

[5] Our Salaf used to seek out the beginning of the coming of these days just as they would seek out the coming of Ramadhaan

[6] and they would work hard in performing good deeds just as they would in Ramadhaan

[7] The Prophet said: "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days." The people asked:

[8] "Not even jihaad for the Sake of Allah?" He said, "Not even jihaad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man

[9] who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing."

[10] Performing good deeds in these ten days is better than any other time of the year. Good deeds include fasting, charity, salaah

[11] remembering Allah and every other type of good deed one can do to get closer to Allah

[12] The Salaf had a difference of opinon regarding whether the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah were better than the last 10 days of Ramadhaan

[13] Strongest opinion: Regarding the day time, the best are the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah

[14] but regarding the night time, the last 10 nights of Ramadhaan are the best because in those ten nights is Laylatul Qadr

[15] From the specifically mentioned righteous deeds is making takbeer.Allah says: "and mention the Name of Allah on appointed days" [ 22:28]

[16] Ibn 'Abbaas: This refers to the ten days of Dhul Hijjah [as reported by at-Tabaree]

[17] The Muslim should begin making takbeer when the sun sets on the last day of Dhul Qa'dah

[18] It is reported that Ibn 'Umar & Abu Hurayrah used to go out and make takbeer during the 10 days so others would hear them & follow suit

[19] It is also reported that 'Umar Ibn al-Khattaab would make takbeer during the days of Mina

[20] It is recommended to make the takbeer at all places and at all times during these ten days of Dhul Hijjah

[21] On the 9th day (Day of 'Arafah), once the people pray Fajr, they make a special type of takbeer after the 5 daily prayers.

[22] They should make the takbeer after the 5 daily prayers & continue until the last days of tashreeq (13th Dhul Hijjah)

[23] The manner in making the takbeer: Allahu Akbar (3 times), Laa ilaaha illa Allah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa Lillahil Hamd

[24] 2nd way: Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa ilaaha illa Allah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa Lillahil Hamd

[25] The Sahaabah would say this individually. No doubt what people do today by saying it in unison is bid’ah and is not from our Deen

[26] It is reported in Abu Daawood with a chain that the scholars differ regarding - some of the Mothers of the Believers reported that

[27] The Prophet used to fast the first 9 days of Dhul Hijjah, especially the 9th day which is the day of 'Arafah

[28] The Prophet was asked about fasting the Day of 'Arafah. He said: It is an expiation for the sins of the past year & the year to come

[29] This is for the one who is not performing Hajj. The pilgrim should not fast on this day

[30] Slaughtering on the day of 'Eid is a very highly confirmed and recommended Sunnah

[31] When a man slaughters a single sheep, it is sufficient for him and the members of his family

[32] One should choose a good, healthy sheep without sickness or defect because it is a sacrifice he is offering to Allah

[33]Whoever wants to slaughter,is not allowed to cut his hair, fingernails or remove anything from his skin from the first day of Dhul Hijjah
Forwarded from SalafiPosts (Abu Ibraheem اشرف علي)
[34] If he does so out of forgetfulness there is no expiation but if he does so on purpose, he has committed a sin

[35] however, his sacrifice is accepted

[36] Also from the righteous deeds is performing Hajj, which is one of the pillars of Islaam as comes in the hadeeth of Ibn 'Umar:

[37] “Islaam is built upon five: the testimony that there is no deity worthy of worship in truth but Allah and that Muhammad

[38] is the Messenger of Allah; establishing the Salaah; paying the Zakaah; Hajj to the House and fasting Ramadhaan.”

[39] The Muslim who is adult, of sound mind and has the ability should do so (perform Hajj) as soon as possible.

[40] Meaning of having the ability - health, physical ability to make the journey & required wealth as stated by IbnTaymiyyah & Ibn Hajar

[41] He should make Hajj the very first opportunity he gets because he does not know if he would get the chance if he delays

[42] On the authority of Ibn 'Abbaas, the Prophet said: "Hasten to make Hajj because one of you does not know what will face him." [Ahmad]

[43] The most correct opinion amongst the scholars: a person should perform both Hajj & Umrah once in a lifetime

[44] If he can do somore than once, this is even better for him

[45] Performing Salaat-ul-'Eid is Fardh Kifaayah. It is Sunnah to be performed in a musallah outside of the masjid

[46] It is Sunnah to wear your best clotting to the 'Eid prayer as done by Ibn 'Umar

[47] After the 'Eid prayer, one should go directly and slaughter his udhiyyah
