🇦🇷🤝🇺🇸— 💰 The President of Argentina, Javier Milei, stated that if "the extreme condition" for reaching a free trade agreement with the United States were to leave Mercosur, he would do so. However, he believes that within the regional trade bloc, there are mechanisms that would allow this objective to be achieved without the need to exit.

"If the extreme condition were that, yes," Milei replied in an interview with Bloomberg in Davos, Switzerland, where he is participating in the World Economic Forum. "However, there are mechanisms through which [the free trade agreement with the U.S.] can be achieved while remaining within Mercosur. That is why we believe it can be done without having to abandon what we have in Mercosur," he stated.

🌐 In response to a question about Trump's willingness to increase tariffs on his trade partners, the Argentine president argued that giving an opinion on another country's trade policy would be "irresponsible" and "disrespectful."

🇨🇳 Milei also emphasized, regarding relations with China, that the economies of the Asian country and Argentina "are complementary" and that "there is much to be done together."
