A Science, Policy and Law Webinar on the Impacts to Flora and Fauna from Cell Towers, Wireless Networks and Non-ionizing Electromagnetic Radiation
The rapid proliferation of wireless antennas (including those on cell towers, 5G/4G small cells and rooftops) into national parks, wilderness, urban and suburban ecosystems is increasing the environmental levels of non-ionizing radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic radiation. Scientific evidence indicates that wireless RF and other non-ionizing electromagnetic fields are an environmental pollutant presenting critical exposure risks to wildlife and the natural environment.
This webinar features experts in science, law and policy discussing the need for protective regulations.

Ethical Issues in NanoBiotechnology
Published 1 April 2015 - Engineering, Biology
International Journal for Scientific Research and Development
An analysis of research students' perspectives concerning ethical issues associated with nanotechnology research reveals that issues related to Medical field is the first ethical challenge in nanobiotechnology followed by Environmental issues, Health and Safety issues, and Societal issues.
Abstract
Bionanotechnology, nanobiotechnology and nanobiology are terms that refer to the intersection of nanotechnology and biology. The subject is one that has only emerged very recently, nanobiotechnology serve as blanket terms for various related technologies. Nanoethics "concerns ethical and social issues associated with developments in nanotechnology". Nano biotechnology represents a rapidly growing field of interest and has a wide variety of applications. However, as with nanotechnology and biotechnology, bionanotechnology does have many potential ethical issues associated with it. Nano2Life ELSA (2006) board has identified some potential issues more specific to nanobiotechnology. Because of the wide gap between the basic science and many of the still speculative predictions, nanobiotechnologies are presented in a future oriented way, which itself poses the first ethical challenge. The ethical issues concerned with nanobiotechnologies are related to Health, Safety, Medical, Legal, Social and Environmental issues. Other ethical issues include Governance of Research, Economic Displacements, Anthropological Aspects and Transhumanists. Most issues on nanobiotechnology are still at its infancy and inconclusive. Thus, nanobiotechnologies act as enabling technologies that widen and sharpen the impact of existing issues. The current paper deals with an analysis of research students' perspectives concerning ethical issues associated with nanotechnology research. The study reveals that issues related to Medical field (40%) is the first ethical challenge in nanobiotechnology followed by Environmental issues (30%), Health and Safety issues (20%) and Societal issues (10%). Most of the respondents believe that nanobiotechnology will pose more risks (50 - 90%) to human health rather than benefits (25%). Therefore, it is important to encourage ethics researchers to produce quality research proposals on ethical issues and to have the public involved in the discussion of the social impact of nanotechnology.

5G networks, that are either already introduced or are about to be implemented in many countries, although representing a large step forward, technologically speaking, come burdened with a number of problems and controversies.
5G is necessary to create “connected smart cities” – an idea that in and of itself faces criticism and opposition.
A major controversy is related to the undermining of citizen’s privacy while using devices that connect through the new generation network. A specific concern is collection of location data. Not that the existing types of cellular networks don’t already represent a privacy nightmare in terms of location tracking, and potential for mass surveillance stemming from it.
But 5G’s capabilities are on another level, in that people’s location is pinpointed with far greater accuracy than is the case with 4G networks. This is the result of the design of 5G towers, which are significantly smaller and much more numerous. - https://www.lifesitenews.com/opinion/the-promises-of-5g-are-not-worth-the-cost-to-security-and-liberty-heres-why/

Unlike 4G towers that cover large areas, 5G towers are smaller and more numerous, allowing for precise location tracking. This data can be accessed by government agencies, ISPs, and data brokers, exacerbating privacy issues.

As with the gas stove “debate,” any questioning of the latest coolest way to reorganize society is a sign of madness.
Energy is the crux of economic growth and development; therefore, a reliable supply of power is a critical prerequisite for the successful operation of smart city initiatives.
The impact of the energy crisis on smart cities, which are still recovering from the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, has been far-reaching and is having major consequences for businesses, households, and individuals – thereby affecting everyone.
Smart cities are complex and interconnected because they are composed of various sectors, ranging from the manufacturing industry, education, healthcare, transport and the business sector. Since the start of load-shedding many businesses that were attracted to the cities because of well-functioning smarter infrastructure that lowers operating costs, have had to close or down-scale their employee numbers. In Johannesburg, a Wimpy franchise that has been operating in the Fordsburg area for over five decades has had to permanently close down due to persistent power cuts.
In a conversation with News24, the franchise owner Mr. Ebrahim says, “load-shedding has broken our back, people avoid areas where there is load-shedding or reschedule their day according to the load-shedding schedule, such measures draw business away.”

“LEAN ICT: TOWARDS DIGITAL SOBRIETY”: OUR NEW REPORT ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF ICT
The energy consumption of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is increasing by 9% every year. It is possible to limit this growth to 1.5% per year by moving to sober digital practices. The digital transition as it is currently implemented participates to global warming more than it helps preventing it. The need for action is therefore urgent. Such is the main conclusion of the carbon transition think tank The Shift Project’s report on the environmental impact of ICT. If we do not tackle this impact, ICT will be part of the problem rather than part of the solution.

USA: Take Action to Prevent the Next Wireless Invasion – Stop the American Broadband Deployment Act of 2023 from Being Enacted
A new federal bill that threatens to eliminate all state and local control in cell tower and small cell placements is making its way through Congress. Proposed bill H.R. 3557 aims to expedite the deployment of wireless and other communications facilities through a massive federal power grab that strips away state and local control in permitting and regulatory review processes – the very mechanisms designed to protect citizens from the threats posed by wireless facilities.
If H.R. 3557 passes, it will result in a truly unrestricted proliferation of cell towers and small cell installations near schools, playgrounds, and homes without any local or community input.

The adults have left the building – aka Planet – leaving it to be run by the likes of:
Baby Musk – who will provide “Broadband for all” with the help of Starlink, leaking Electrosmog and raining it over us.
Baby Gates – who will provide endless MRNA vaccines/patches/implants for all, changing our DNA forever.
Baby Bezos – who will provide drone delivery of unsustainable goods to all, made in slave labour/automated factories.
Baby Zuckerberg – who will provide the continued brain-washing on Kindergarten Earth, aided by eager “fact checkers”….
In the meantime, more and more of us sit at home like good little Blobs shouting commands to our ever watchful Nanny Aleeexa! from the top of our voices….
No worries, when it all goes to pot, we can jump (if we can still jump) onto one of Musky-boy’s rockets to Mars where Kindergarten Mars will be installed. The Moon will be our Nursery where companies can dig in their sandpits for materials in order to still our tantrums and satisfy our endless hunger for more and faster “connectivity.” Horizontal (brain-frazzling) connectivity can be compared to artificial breast milk formula versus natural breastmilk, which in its turn can be likened to our Natural (vertical) Connection with Earth and Stars.
But hey, who wants Natural when we can get artificial? Who wants real Intelligence, when we can get artificial? Who wants to think for themselves when AI can tell it all and increasingly do it all? And who wants Wisdom when we can get “smart”?
When all the Big Babies have left, Mother Earth will sigh with relief and hope for a Species that respects her and Nature at large….The alternative, of course, is that Humans grow up now, start using their own brains and hearts and give up their harmful “smart” toys, in favour of technology which is soft to the Planet.
Getting a landline and demanding to keep it would be a good start- please keep sharing this petition widely:

THE TIDAL WAVE OF METROPOLISATION IN SHORT
There is no doubt that in the 21st century, the vast majority of humans will live in huge cities. The issue is no longer the choice between urban and rural life, but the choice of “how to live well” with millions of others in megacities. The forecasts converge. The UN estimates that by 2030, there will be 43 megacities in the world, defined as metropolitan areas with a population of more than 10 million. Most of them will be in developing regions in the Middle East, Asia and Africa
“The world faces unprecedented rates of urban expansion. According to the United Nations, 55 per cent of the global population currently lives in cities. By 2050, that number is expected to reach 68 per cent, which means an additional 2.5 billion people will reside in urban areas. China’s cities alone will be home to a staggering 900 million people.” McKinsey report, 2018

It's up to us to stop HR 3557
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
If you have not yet heard, an HORRENDOUS Federal Bill, HR 3557, is working its way through Congress. If passed, It would result in unrestricted proliferation of cell towers and small cell installations near schools, playgrounds, and homes with virtually no state, city, or community input. HR 3557 is "a giant giveaway to the rich and powerful wireless industry …[and] shreds the concept of home rule in favor of top-down federal control.” (Americans for Responsible Technology)
A few days ago, a staffer in the office of one of the representatives noted they had received "just a handful of calls" opposing the bill. Someone from another office said she personally hadn't received any calls. So clearly, we really need to get on it ASAP and spread the word BIG TIME!!
We urge all US citizens to contact your elected reps and let them know unequivocally that you strongly oppose this bill. And then SPREAD the word far and wide so our representatives in DC get sick and tired of hearing from us. 😩☹️😡
(Apologies to those who live outside the US and are receiving this message as it does not pertain directly to you, although its outcome will be felt globally.)

Towards RF communication and multiple access protocols in a body sensor network
Abstract
A Body Senor Network (BSN) allows the integration of miniaturized, intelligent, low power, invasive, and non-invasive wireless sensor nodes to monitor body function and the surrounding environment. The inclusion of wireless sensor nodes within the body requires many more constraints to be met for safe and reliable operations. In this paper, we first study the possibility of Radio Frequency (RF)communication to an implanted device. Then we provide a simulation study of various multiple access protocols for a non-invasive BSN. For RF communication, we use a Perspex tank that mimics the electrical properties of the body at 400MHz. The results show that the implant reveals best performance at 3cm depth and not close to the surface of the skin. Furthermore, we analyze the performance of a Preamble-Based TDMA (PB-TDMA), S-MAC, and IEEE 802.15.4 protocols for a non-invasive BSN using NS-2. Simulation results show that IEEE 802.15.4,when configured in a beacon-enabled mode, performs better than S-MAC and PB-TDMA. Our results also suggest the design and implementation of a new low- power multiple access protocol for invasive and non-invasive BSN.
