USA: Environmentalists sue US Federal Aviation Administration over impact of Space X launches
Conservation groups have sued the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), challenging its approval of expanded rocket launch operations by Elon Musk’s SpaceX next to a national wildlife refuge in South Texas without requiring greater environmental study.
The lawsuit filed... comes on the heels of the April 20 test flight of SpaceX’s next-generation Starship rocket, which ended with the space vehicle exploding over the Gulf of Mexico.
No injuries or significant damage to public property were reported... But large concrete chunks, stainless steel sheets, metal and other objects were hurled hundreds of metres from the launch pad, and a plume of pulverised concrete also sent material up to 6km (4 miles) northwest of the launch site, the US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) reported last week.
“Today’s lawsuit argues that the proposed mitigation by the agency isn’t enough to prevent the launch program from causing significant environmental harm,” the Center for Biological Diversity said in a statement.
The plaintiffs are asking the US District Court for the District of Columbia to overturn the FAA’s decision to grant SpaceX a vehicle operator license and force the agency to re-analyse the launch site’s environmental impact.
SpaceX’s Starship soared 39 km (24 miles) high before exploding on April 20 — the latest in a series of at least nine mishaps at the Boca Chica, Texas site in recent years.
The rocket’s self-destruct system caused the nearly 120-metre (400-ft) rocket to blow up, as it spun out of control just minutes into the test flight. The shattering force of the launch hurled chunks of reinforced concrete and metal shrapnel thousands of metres from the site, adjacent to the Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge near Boca Chica State Park and Beach.

And … Did you know that although a referendum ended apartheid and is our constitutional and, an essential democratic right, the current government are currently denying South Africans the right to hold them!!? 😡
A majority vote in a referendum is a decision made by ALL eligible South Africans on a specific topic that government MUST OBEY!
It is not a petition which counts as a “single outcome” and is not a comment (that government can choose to ignore) made via dear SA.
Most democratic countries use referendums and Switzerland has been using them since the 16th century. They are a long established political instrument.
A referendum is the answer to bad government because it’s self governance and we, the people get to decide what we want to do and not the public servants who seem to have forgotten they work for us, and not the other way around.
We could even fire the government or some of the MPS using this device … and, maybe that’s why we have been denied the right to do so ?
Given this situation, Referendums.co.za had no choice but to set up an independent referendum.
Even though the votes in our referendum may be “unofficial” they are still legitimate as they are properly verified and can be used in court action, to pressure MPS who given the current system of governance, still need to be elected (🤢) and also, could be presented to international human rights organizations.
We spend so much time reacting to the problems caused by the current system of government that we cannot see the way out which is staring us in the face!
Self governance is the only solution to bad government!
Look at the past three years for a crystal clear example of how government and the current system has failed us and, is in fact, killing us!!

“Smart” meters are now on about 50% of North American homes. Utilities and governments have not disclosed the facts.
So-named “smart” meters constitute the basis of the current version of a “smart” grid – which is being rolled out in all western nations. Also referred to by utilities as “AMI”, “advanced”, “modernized”, or “automated” meters, they are chiefly data-capturing and 2-way wireless communications devices, which also have the ability to meter your utility usage (electricity, water or gas).
A vast array of personal information can be harvested on your in-home activities, and then transmitted to corporations and governments in hackable, low-level microwave radiation bursts. Approximately 50% of homes and businesses in North America how have a “smart” electricity meter attached.
Though the issue of utility meters may at first seem innocuous, this is set to have profound consequences for virtually all aspects of our lives, and even nature itself. As such, there is growing awareness and resistance – which has been met with massive utility propaganda.
Despite the resistance, utilities and governments are for the most part having their way with their deployments, charging punitive “opt-out” fees for those who do not wish to participate. But this may all soon be changing.

What’s passing for reason is a mix of appearance-only #science and deranged corporatchik mumbo jumbo. - Now, allow me to go on a tangent. A classic example of a falsely labeled conspiracy theory that triggers mandatory eye rolls (from the proud intellectuals, and then back from me—because I happen to have studied the topic) is the 5G discussion. Does the fact that the New York Times keeps pushing out articles about its safety make it so? Well, no. The New York Times has important business partners (like Verizon) and important investors (like Carlos Slim). - Don’t we know by now that the industry interests have mastered the art of propaganda to perfection? In this case, they have made sure that mentioning this topic at a respectable gathering makes you look like a fool. But there has been in-depth civilian research into negative health impacts of electromagnetic radiation since at least 1980s (I’ve stumbled upon some that research by accident, that’s how I know). Today, there are hundreds if not thousands of legitimate scientists ringing an alarm about potentially disastrous health effects of 5G and calling for in-depth independent safety studies before considering a real-life implementation of the technology—for the sake of our species’ survival—and a tremendous lobbying effort on behalf of the telecom industry to ignore the uncomfortable science and to go right ahead. And while the telecom is mostly interested in money, the push for 5G is also a major area of geopolitical competition (namely, between the U.S. and China). The military folk are terrified of losing that race, and if we know anything about the inner mechanics of modern empires, when the military folk want something, civilian health concerns take a hit. But the New York Times says 5G is safe, whoopeeee. And fine, the military folk do what they always do, and they get carried away—but the intellectuals? What happened to the curiosity? What happened to the parental instincts? Genotoxicity by Electromagnetic Fields
Abstract
Modern life implies a constant exposure of living organisms to many sources of radiation, especially electromagnetic fields (EMFs) generated by our technological devices.The question of whether or not EMFs in the non-ionizing extremely low frequency (ELF) range can induce genotoxic effects is currently a subject of interest. People of industrialized societies are commonly exposed to EMFs and waves in a very broad range of frequencies, including power lines, telecommunications, and domestic and industrial equipment. In this review, we present controversial evidence from our research group and others of genotoxicity induced by ELF-EMFs, In 2002 the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) categorized ELF-EMFs as being potential carcinogenic and genotoxic agents to humans. The aim of the present chapter is to discuss the role of ELM-EMFs on human genotoxicity.
